sabre is quite right, as usual. the easterners, or at least the catalan people are mainly a closed bunch, obsessed with business, very serious and political, but also kind of interesting when you get to know them. they're the kind of people that once you've got their respect and loyalty you have it for life. obviously though these are generalisations, luis garcia would probably not easily fall into that description. funnily enough a guy i'm working with a little right now grew up in the same village as luis and their families are good friends. says he's a lovely guy with passion for property.

anyway mods - move mine and sabre's posts into the wonderful and excellent, permanently stimulating luis garcia thread would you?

I genuinely believe we're a huge club, we're known around England well, real well in europe too. We just need to improve our recognition worldwide, not just european.

When i went to Malta, lots of people recalled facts about pompey, and lots knew pompey in spain, too.

I'm having a great time with all this. It's like a Betis fan, but without actually qualifying for Europe every 5 years.

Mind you, waiters are trained here to nod and smile when they don't understand english, it's probably they did that when you told'em about Pompey.

And getting beat will be a blessing in disguise for Pompey as Mr Perrin will be sent packing and maybe you will get a football manager in to replace him!!
