It's been on the La Liga rumour site for weeks but only rated as 3 out of 5 for accuracy

Made a mistake !  It's just been downgraded to 1 out of 5 ("probably absolute rubbish") - Rikki coming is still 3 out of 5

So why were we trying to sign him as a right winger on the transfer deasline day? Or am I missing something?

Simao is a right winger who can also play on the left like c.ron. Simao only played on the left as cover in the man u game.

Said on Sky before the chamipons league games that Juventus were in the picture for him and they are set to offer a straight 12 million so i think the 20 and 25 million shouts could well be off the mark and Betis maybe be set to let him go for cheaper than we think, but Joaquin for less than 15 mil means a hell of a lot more teams will go for him.

John Bull, what liga rumour site is that, url please? I want to see if there's anything related to my team, or if our archienemies Bilbao are going to eventually forget about playing with "basques" (1) only

(1) We have more basques than them, they assimilate other parts of SPain people to Basque or nearly basque, since their youth system is uncapable to produce Alonsos.

I think Rafa have a plan B . Why do we need RM when SG can play at that position ? We can use that money to buy other player maybe buy two new good CB .

I don't know ... but I do know that in 90 min is not 100% to play at that same position . He can play free roles , sometimes on the left and sometimes in the centre

the only thing that seems strange to me is that is we were to lose morientes for a winger, we have few strikers left than rafa rates.

Cisse clearly isn't a fave of his, pongolle and mellor aren't ready and crouch isn't gonna be snapping up opportunities all over the place.

Seems a strange move to make. You don't let people go to weaken your side.

I am still baffled by the alleged lack of transfer funds, or willingness to spend. I approve of caution, but it seems like Rafa doesn't want to spend at all.

If this is not a rumor which i think it is...i won't want Morientes to go...i would want Crouch to go to real betis instead...without Morientes...all scoring duty will have to go to Cisse and that is more pressure...

ave heard whispers that betis are in debt, especially if they go out the CL so they may have no choice but to cash in on him which could allow us to snap him up for cheap....not holdin me breath though

sabre do you know what betis' financial situation is? if so please enlighten me :D

I don't think there is much truth to the story, personally. Especially regarding the price quoted. Morientes plus 10 million would be hard to believe. I just don't see it happening. Although, I can see Morientes leaving in January if need be. In a part exchange dea or straight cash.

Anyway, I heard Betis are interested in Maxi Lopez. They could probably easily get him on loan for the rest of the season.
