Cisse - a failure? - Exchange him for andy cole!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It just made me wonder why we paid 14M pounds for Cisse when I watched Vassell and Andy Cole playing for Man City on my cable...

We've got a pacey runner who got a poor touch of the ball and had a habit to kick the ball hard towards the keepers or the stand... and doesn't seem he likes to pass the ball around...

I think if we have andy cole instead of cisse, we mighti have score a hell lot of goals this season... at least cole's got a good intelligence on using the ball.

No Cisse is not a failure to answer your question!!Well i dont think so anyway!
He's scored more goals than Crouch and Nando together so far this season

I think he's finally finding form and confidence and will come good for us soon!

As for Andy Coal ffs wise up will ya hes to old!

I have to agree with Barry there. Despite his inept goal counts or attempts statistics, everyone could see his improvements over the last couple of games since Gerrard started playing on the right. Expect more goals from him.

newbie to here doesn't mean a newbie reds fan, mr. elite member.

yeah cisse is scoring a few goals.. but i think he hasn't yet lived up to his 14m value. for that money liverpool spent i think it's fair to expect a quick impact wif bags of goals, if not instant for his horror injury last season.

he has scored 16-26 games.. thats not bad he needs a run in the side. not a game in a game out.

Was you praising Andy Cole last season or the season before ?
Manchester City have had a good start to the season and Cole is in good form, but he has struggled the last couple of seasons and is right at the end of his career.
I dont think Cisse has been given long enough to write off totally yet, although his overall ability has worried me at times.
But to be fair to the lad he is scoring goals when he gets the chance and i think he deserves a run in the side alongside a striking partner.

Get off Cisse's back FFS, he's scored 10 goals so far this season, and it's only just November. He targeted 20 at the start of the season, and he's half way there. What more can you ask of a striker?

What a stupid thread to start up. Sorry PepeMOMO but youve done your rep no favours by starting this thread. I think along with may others that yes Cisse does have his critics but he does also know how to score goals and hes slowly scoring more and more. Im confident that he will eventually fit perfectly into Rafas plans. He is indeed very gifted in terms of pace and power and im sure Rafa will get the best out of him after all look what he did with Traore and Biscan last season. I am confident that by the end of the season Cisse will have fulfilled his promise to score 20 goals over the season. Heck hes half way there isnt he. Go on lad.......knock em in.

We dont need any Andy cole. We have one of the best attacking lineups in England and probabaly Europe for that matter. The fact that Nando and Crouch arent scoring is only down to bad luck. That will all change.

Cole is in his 30's and Cisse isn't even in his mid 20's meaning that Cisse can improve where as Cole reached his peak. He's playing well but he was average for Fulham, no thanks.
