Millwall Football Club today finally cleared their name over the charges of racism relating to last season's Carling Cup clash against Liverpool when their appeal was upheld by the Football Association.
The game, which took place last October, was mared by trouble when Liverpool fans threw chaird and coins at the home fans and attempted to invade the pitch. However, following a malicious email campaign by Liverpool fans - some of whom later admitted that they weren't even at the game - and despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary from the Metropolitan Police, the media and Liverpool Football Club, the FA decided to charge The Lions with racist chanting.
The club was originally fined and threatened with ground closure. This punishment has now been overturned.
