bit harsh on the keeper that mate, he was dropped right in it by flanagan and if he would have went for the ball half hearted no doubt everyone would have been saying he was trying to protect his wembley place.
granted his attempt at getting the ball was a bit clumsy but these days the way players look for contact those 1 on 1`s are always tricky situations for keepers, as i said he was dropped right in it.

Agreed that Flanagan's short pass left him in a tricky situation that demanded an astute piece of keeping, but you still expect the keeper to do much better than that even in those circumstances. Doni just straight out missed all of the ball and took all of the player. I could do that.  :D

Im confused. I thought they couldnt punish players retrospectively?

they can't if the ref is deemed to have seen the incident and dealt with it at the time. hence why rooney didn't get done for that ridiculous elbow on mccarthy last year.

in this ivanovic case the ref didn't see it. it was posted on youtube after the game i think.

all in all the system is an absolute farce.

trying to do what doni did would put my back out these days  :D
yeah it was a clumsy challenge mate but those 1 on 1`s are a keepers worst nightmare, you`ve even got keepers not bothering to put in a challenge (like krul against carroll) because the slightest mistake and they are off and sometimes even when they dont put a challenge in (like brad freidel against torres at anfield) they get sent off anyway!
it wasnt the greatest bit of goalkeeping i`ve ever seen in my life but the situation wasnt of his making so i wouldnt class it as a clanger, not on the keepers behalf anyway!

Appealling was the right decision. If it was successful he would have been available for Saturday. If it failed, as expected, it wouldn't matter if he got another week or not, because Reina would be back. So no harm in trying at all.

What really makes me sick, is the fact that Kenny Dalglish sat with the head of the referees at the beginning of the season, and asked not for favouritism but a level playing field, and since then, we have been screwed royally. We have had very little go for us this season, and this isn't poor refereeing, its blatant cheating. Ask yourself this, whenever an opponent goes down in the box against us, why is it the refs always see this, and yet when one our players goes down, the refs go blind?

Also the treatment of Suarez, he is getting nothing from the refs and yet while players like Arjen Robben for Chelsea and Cristiano Ronaldo for united could do no wrong, Suarez is being booked for getting fouled.

Its not a conspiracy theory, its not bitterness, its the truth. LFC are being screwed royally by the FA.
