Shelly "depends, will you still get your 50 grand"
Harry "Sure will babes"
Shelly "then stay in bed and you can phone in injured again, im sure that Gerard Benitez wont mind"
Harry "Brilliant one Shelly ill tell him ma groin is in a right mess and shelly is givin it a good rub, what d'ya reckon??"
Shelly "Fu*kin brillant Harry your the best"

Kewell? :D

Cisse picked up a knock but he should be fit to play against the Spurs. This is a chance for Cisse and Crouch to show what they'r e made off, there's also Garcia and Pongolle who can play as strikers.

:censored:, we needed him against Serbia  I know that player and I wanted him to play. Bloody Fernando Torres "the child" wouldn't score a goal in a rainbow

Image And I feel so sad, he must be very very depressed.

I'm quite angry because Genaro Borras the Spanish Squad Doc agreed to take some risks and "force" Morientes a bit in order how he responded. And he broke :( The disclaimer is that the risk was assumed both by the player and the docs, because Fernando wanted to play at all cost.

Bah :(

Kewell could seriously do a good job when fit!
FIT being the main issue here as he is usually not.
either way, if nando is out for a while. then we cant expect cisse and crouchy to lead the line always.
i know we hav pongo but he lacks experience.
when does kewell get back anyways?

I think it's probably a bit silly to claim that some people on here will be "glad that he's injured". That's just daft talk and those that are saying it ought to know better.
I reckon I was the first on here to cast doubts over the ability of Morientes to do a job for us, in the "I know it's early but......" thread last season. I got slagged then but it seems many others are beginning to worry over Nando's form, notwithstanding the fact that he is obviously a talented footballer.
Similarly this season I have been quick to rubbish his performances, largely because in my opinion they have been rubbish. All that said however, I don't wish ill on the fella and am as gutted as the next man that he is injured. I'm not a real fan of Roy Keanne either (though I have respect for his obvious football ability) but I don't even wish for him to be injured so I'm hardly likely to celebrate when one of our lads goes down and I'm sure nobody else would either.
Jesus I don't even wish any ill on Zenden! So lets stop all this silly talk of some on here being happy and wish Nando a speedy recovery. The sooner he finds his form and rams my words so far down my throat they come out of my erse the better for everybody.

I'll try to translate as accurate as possible, and I think you are not going to like this

Genaro Borras, the chief of the medical services of the Spanish Squad confirmed that "Morientes had a little contracture yesterday in the "isquiotibiales" (a muscle) of the left leg, and knowing that risk we decided he trained today in order to see he was ready to play or he noticed some sympthoms. In an action he's got injured, and he's got a thigh strain"

Genaro Borras explained the risks that Morientes took when they decided to train and blamed of it to the technical staff, himself and Morientes itself, it was a joint decission. It was an assumible risk in order to see what the feeling was.

Nevertheless, the chief of the medical staff unveiled that Morientes has "forced" himself a bit since he didn't feel that well from the very beginning of the training session in the Vicente Calderon Stadium. "He just was so confident and he just was so willing to play. He had no more than a contracture and now he has a thigh strain . We'll make some tests today, and inform properly to his club tomorrow" he concluded

cant expect cisse and crouch to lead the line always??? that is 21 million worth of strikers, they should be leading the line all the time if fit, and pongos been here nearly 4 years if hes not experianced now he never will be

I'd like to see cisse and crouch lead the line against spurs however if we play just the one up front again then it will just be probs just be crouchy providing hes fit enough.

On a postive striker note young Ramon Calliste who we picked from Manure after he left them, had a goal disallowed for Wales under 21s.....Hope that makes you all feel a hell of a lot better  :D

We need Fernando Morientes. He might not be scoring goals and that's all to lack of confidence, but as mentionned above, he needed a few games under his belt to get back on the scoring trend. He scored at the week-end against Canada. Lets hope the injury is not that severe.
