RAFA DELIGHTED WITH DIDI DEAL

  Rafael Benitez is delighted to be retaining the services of Dietmar Hamann for at least another year. 
Hamann was out of contract at Anfield this summer and was interesting both Bolton Wanderers and Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
 
But after playing a starring role in the Reds' dramatic Champions League victory in Istanbul, the German midfielder has decided to pledge his immediate future to the Reds and stay for another season.
 
"I'm delighted we have an agreement with Didi," said Benitez. "He is a very important player for us."
 
Hamann added: "Once Liverpool made an offer, there was only one place I wanted to play my football.
 
"The gaffer said we would wait until after the final before we had a meeting and that's what we did. We came to an agreement instantly. I'll be here next season, hopefully for the next two years.
 
"I'm delighted the manager wanted to keep me. I read a lot about other clubs being interested, but I couldn't imagine playing for any club in England."
