Zenden might be old now and might have lost his pace. But he stil is, any day, a better attacking player than Risse.
Risse cannot take on defenders, all he has is a good cross.
Zenden has the ability to cut in and actually 'create' a scoring opportunity, although he might not shine in every game, he certainly will contribute over the season as long as he is in good shape.
Zenden over Risse any day.
At least we have two players competing for 1 postion.
Zenden is the sort of player who needs to play regulary to get his form, at Chelsea he could never stay in the team and that was one of the reasons he never really showed any consistent form. Zenden isn't a world beater, but he is a smart signing on a free and gives us an additional option on the left.
Im gonna sit on the fence and say there isnt too much between them, for me it would just about who ever took there chance.

Zenden - Left Wing
Although i'd prefer to see Riise on the left wing, we need someone who is capable of playing left back, Traore is perhaps the most clumsy player in the PL and provides NO ATTACKING THREAT WHATSOEVER - and Warnock just doenst have the ability. So for me, Riise has to play left back, leaving the left wing open for Zenden... [this is why my vote for a CB goes to Gallas, because he can also play left back, meaning we can play Riise in his most effective position (Left Wing)]

So nothing to argue about because Rafa will arrange well.
