"I can take criticism, all the time it's fair. People pay their money to come to the stadium and they expect you to give your best. The thing is, I have to put my talents to the best use. I have to use my pace at the right time. Yes, sometimes I wave my arms around and complain I didn't get the ball when and where I wanted it but that's just my way of dealing with things. Thierry Henry does the same, showing his frustration. Sometimes people confuse that with some kind of superiority complex, when nothing could be further from the truth. I'm just always wound up when I'm out there on the field. I live for my football and I'm desperate to do my best. That's just the way I am and the way I express myself but people who've played alongside me over the years will vouch for the fact that I've always been a team man.

"This season, you're going to see another Liverpool and people will see another Djibril Cisse. I'm ready now. This is going to be my season. After all I went through last season, it's only normal for me to want to pay everyone back. I owe so much. The club was always behind me, always believed in me, even when I was seriously injured. Looks like cisse is ready for the season to begin. it is good to see that confidence in himself, saying that he will score 20+ goals! i hope he sticks to his target!
personally i am not convincied about him as of yet. there is a difference between being confident and being over confident.
put i hope i am proven wrong!

I like his attitude but i wonder will he be used as much as we hope and if he is will he be rotated to right midfield if we don't fill that position. I think Rafa will prefer Crouch and Morientes to be honest.

not sure about Ali...........

but his attitude is great, he takes the criticisim with class and doesnt bitch and make up excuses. He says that he will prove himself and acknowledges that he owes Liverpool alot.

this is my worry aswell.

not so much with regards to him being used as a winger but just whether or not he will be used enough as a striker.

i started a thread a while back in which i was stating how big a season this is for djibril cisse. with the world cup coming up next year he needs to be playing more often than not. however i don't think rafa is fully convinced by him by any means. he didn't buy him afterall.

I actually think Cisse will get plenty of starts as it stands. I think Rafa's strikers can be ranked in his head as 1. Cisse 2. Crouch (this is his favoured front pairing IMHO) 3. Morientes and 4. Baros. When he plays one up top away it will be Cisse and Crouch who share the burden.

Cisse will start I am sure of it. IMO Crouch and Morientes will pair terribly together, they are both very similar players. They both rely on their ability in the air, and their link up-play, neither of them are what you'd call deadly finishers, and both lack pace. TBH I think pairing them together regulary would stifle our attack somewhat.

Has anyone read the interview with the guy in FourFourTwo magazine this month? He's got exactly the right attitude and mentality we want at Liverpool. I was smiling all the way through reading it. He is just SO positive about absolutely everything. I saw him in Liverpool Centre about five months back before he had made his Juventus comeback and he looked like the meanest ba$tard you ever saw. I was looking at him and he just glared at me, and to be fair I didn't recognise who it was until I had passed him. Had I realised who it was sooner I would have stopped him to chat but it wasn't the time or place once I had walked past him. But I would put money on it he would have been receptive to me because that's how he comes across in interviews even if he did have a look of hatred in his eyes that day!!!

I'm still not convinced by him as the answer to our striking problems and if I'm going with my instinct, I don't think he'll score anywhere near twenty goals this season in the league.

But I would be so pleased to be proved wrong. He strikes me when he gets on the pitch as the type of player who is too eager to score every time he gets the ball no matter where he is on the pitch. I don't claim to be an expert on him as he hasn't played that many games for us. But he looks to eager to impress with EVERY touch from the first whistle and with that comes the poor first touch, the misplaced shots and passes; and the lack of concentration.

Only when he actually does score does he look a calmer, mature player who looks like he's thinking "Okay, I've hit the back of the net, the pressure is off, play your natural game." You saw it against Kaunas the other week, he loked like he trusted his own ability a lot more once he had scored.

Just my opinion of course. He's still like a 'newish' player and he has my full backing and I hope for his sake he is a massive success at Liverpool because he clearly believes he will be.

Trust cisse, he is capable of scoring goal... Let be frank, he is a typical player who is fast on his feet and can hold the ball well. just that injury ruin his season. with crouch coming in, i feel that he can score lot of goal for liverpool this season...

We will wait and see.....

I very much doubt it

Even Owen couldn't manage that in years of trying AND taking pens. Owen also played virtually every game barring injury.

Given that Cisse will be rotated more often than not, I just can't see it. But here's hoping.

I'd put money on gerrard not being far off 20 in all competitions this season aswell. i thought 13 last season was a great total for him but this season he's already scored 6 and the league hasn't even started yet.
