Not cocky - just confident - and a strong belief in the player and manager

Nothing wrong with that.

In fairness to the fella dressed in blue, he should be confident. If I was a betting man, (and I am) I would think that the 11/10 available in places for Chelsea to win the Prem is the price of the century. Arsenal and Manure are less strong than last season based on transfer activity, while Chelsea have added Del horno, Crespo and in all probablity Essien to a squad which was already the best by a distance.
He makes an interesting point when he puts down two first teams. The reality is of course that should Terry, Lampard, Czech and Makeleli all get career threatening injuries, Mourhinho will just buy Bouffon, Nesta, Ballack & any other midfield player (with the exception of Gerrard) you could mention. If Drogba gets injured they'll just buy Shevchenko. It goes on and on, this type of financial clout has never been seen before in football. I made the point in an earlier post that a rule change is needed to redress the balance. This is NOT the same as when Manure or ourselves dominated. No disrespect to our Chelsea friend, Mourhinho has finished off the fantastic work of Ranieri to mould a smashing football team. Good luck to them but it won't go on forever.

Gerrard won the European Cup with a team which had a lot of injury problems. Mr Jose should talk a little bit less since his team of stars could not beat us.

To be completely honest, despite some of his comments, I actually quite like Mourinho. I think he's great for the game in this country. It's more that to$$er Kenyon I can't stand.

Some time last season Kenyon ranted that they should be in G14 as they were one of europes wealthiest clubs.
Lucianno Moggi said it does not matter how much money you have you cannot buy into G14, only clubs of great prestige and tradition in domestic or european football were invited to join, membership is by invite only.

Just shows money can't buy everything. :rasp

Now we do, sure 20M is todays mark and maybe 1M was the mark then.

We have just won the league again after 50 years. And 10 years from now we can look back and say we have won so many things in these last 10 years.

Everything changes with time.

The difference is we earned the money from winning throphys and leagues. You hav your money from a russian gangster.

Nothing goes on forever. Thats why Liverpool's greatest days were in the 80's and then last season with the CL.

Sure we will have a dip in form, sure one day Jose will move on, sure one day some of our player might leave.  But thats all one day, its not now and its not in the near future.

Do you think the rest of Europe are convinced by our media that Chelsea are giants of European football, because thay are not, just like Arsenal, merely participants, big team cannon fodder. You Know it makes sense.

Chelsea Forever, to be honest i don't know. I would like to think that i would not be happy, even angry if someone like Abrom came in. But that's happily pure speculation.

I reckon i feel a kind of pity for the long standing chelsea supporter, but then i think about the games we lost to you guys and think bugg.er the feckers.   :p

And this debate can go on forever.

In your eyes we might have bought the title - but realists know otherwise.

We will win it again this season, and thats not from someone who is arrogant or cocky but someone who has belief in the squad. I also think we have a very good shot at the CL Final this time around.

I will be here, and after every 5 games I will write about both the teams performances, good and bad points, and each month we can compare if you wish. Liverpool have a good squad this time around, and id like to see Rafa make the best use of it and give Arsenal and Manu a good fight.

Cheers

Going back to the title topic ,what Rafa replied to Maureens pathetic statement is true the greasy little man is worried about LFC this year .
Which is a good thing ,Chelsea forever we will take it as a compliment from the Special one

Why has Maureen bothered to say this?

Is it his frustration at not landing Gerrard ?
But the timing of it is even funnier because as ive said before he is struggling to sign Esssein Because Lyon are holding you to ransom and rightly so.
So the little man decides to take a side swipe at LFC and Gerrard because he is so frustrated .
It isnt nessasary is it ?? :no

Chelsea Forever, you are one of the few posters from other teams that make some good points.

..................However, couple of points which are fact:

1 - Chelsea in theory can buy any player in the world. I say in theory as this would depend whether the player would want to come to a club who has only appeared in the last couple of seasons, winning the league for the first time in 50 YEARS!! this would mean they would only come to Chelsea for monetary reasons really ie. Crespo, Veron, Bridge, Johnson, Parker the list goes on.

This really has never happened in world football EVER, you could mention Real Madrid, but even they have budgetary constraints.

2 - It is well known that Chelsea are the only club in world football today that will pay a transfer fee in full up front, therefore making it very tempting for the selling club to sell to you (not to mention the greedy agents!!)

To summarise:

Chelsea will pay inflated transfer fees for ANY player that they want up front in Cash.

this has happened consistently since the Abramovich era, spending over £200 million on players and wages accounting for about 80% of your club turnover.

In answer to your question "And if this so called Gangster had bought Liverpool - im sure you would not be complaining". In theory, I have to be honest - No. In reality though very much yes, because we are not in debt to the tune of 100million plus and about 2 days from administration as you were back then.

So.............YES, you did buy your way to the Premier league in 2004/2005

From supporter of Liverpool FC (current European Champions, achieved by hard work, tradition, solid foundations and the BEST manager in Europe today :buttrock)

sorry   am I missing something     why the hell have we got a chelski fan on our site??     bugger off you sad git    if your manager was so special he would have kept the same team he won the premiership with last season and not buy every decent player that he can lay his grubby little hands on now that would have been an achievement

winning any titles with a team that can buy anyone they want whenever they want is not a great feat, Liverpool won the champions league on the back of an horrendous injury list and so what if you win more of the next ten years your club now has lost its identity and its soul.

p.s.   you definitely have the ugliest team in the premiership maybe Europe possibly the world    :eyebrow

Man,

Im sorry but many of you dont know jack about football. I have found only a few people on here who make decent arguments and have facts and theories to back them up.

So you can carry on basking in your CL glory as you rightly should, I will be back after the first 5 games of the season and then we shall have a little chat.

All the best and I look forward to a tough race with Liverpool
