Mourinho raps Liverpool's Gerrard: Wrong to snub Chelsea
tribalfootball.com - August 1, 2005

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has told Steven Gerrard he made a big mistake choosing Liverpool over the Blues.

He said: "Gerrard is a great player and we want an English core very much. But I think it is Gerrard's loss more than Chelsea's.

"Why? Because Chelsea have a good team with the conditions to improve and a club which will be one of the best in the world in a short period of time.

"So when he decides not to join this club, I think it will be a loss for him, for his career.

"He can say 'I was European champion at Liverpool'.

"But I can say to him in the next 10 years we will compare trophies at Chelsea and at Liverpool. And he will lose."

This post is a wind up, you smackhead, theres no proof thats what maureen said.

we'd have seen it all over the net and TV! you rumour mongerer!

if he did make such comments, he would be referring to what Steven Gerrard will ACTUALLY ACHIEVE  in his Liverpool career, and not Lfc's history.

I have to say chelsea looks like winning the League and maybe the CL time and again, and with abramovich's money it could happen.

LFc's chances of winning the league will have to rely on more than "tactics" that Benitez will bring to the table.

at the end of the day its all about who has the REAL firepower of Finance to buy the best players in the world.!Chelsea,....Crespo, wight phillips, maybe Essien. Its just like its a game of monopoly!

Anyone who disagrees with this is purely dreaming or is on Acid.

It's certain that over the next 3 or 4 years Chelsea will win more trophies than anybody else. In the long-term, if Abrhamovic sticks around it's still pretty likely. What is equally certain is that the Chelsea squad will be littered with players who fail to fulfill their career potential having made the mistake of signing for money purposes.
Was Scott Parker wise to sign for Chelsea? He was on the fringe of the England team when he went there. Now, only the barcodes are prepared to take the huge gamble on his salary and fee, in the hope he can become the player he was and remember how to actually play the game. Was SWP right to go there, will he get a game? Sure these guys get huge salaries, like as not SWP will play in the last four games of the Prem. His every touch will be given an Ole` by the crowd and these four appearances will mean he will pick up a Premiership winners medal. Of his 10 appearances that season, he will probably remember the one away to Bolton best, the one where he scored twice in the 5-0 win.
At the end of the season is the World Cup. Any chance SWP had of being included in the starting X1 disappeared the minute he signed for Chelsea. Beckham was probably the happiest man around.
Trophies? if you want to win a s many as possible then Chelsea is your best bet. Glory, honour and immortality? Join a team where you will play regularly, where they aren't just a collection of everyone else's best players and do something special there. If your home-town club is capable of winning the biggest trophies in the land, then stick around and make yourself some history.

Great post this.....I too suspect that Chelski will continue to win trophies for some time and over the next decade may well win more than we will but they won't do it with any class, they won't do with any real hard work, no blood, sweat and tears, they will never be an underdog in any match they play and their achievements as such will be mearly bought and not earned. It used to frustrate me but then last season I watched as we won the European Cup and I realised that it doesn't matter. Chelski won a double, the league cup and premiership, normally a great achievement but the rest of the country didn't salute them or celebrate their success....no the rest of the country got behind Liverpool Football Club and our magnificent achievement.
Let them have their "success" it is nothing special......you can never buy class, you earn it.
