Yea!

Then put Reina as the right winger and we'll be set.

I wonder how much schalke's gonna pay us for baros.  They say they'll make an offer next week I think.

It's gotta be 6+ mil.

On sky, it says baros would cost around 7 million.

Baros is only 23 and he has potential although a bad attitude.

Yea 7 million would be robbing them, but they don't know that.

hes sopossed to be really impressive, how old was Gerrad when he was making consistent starts?

You expect a 16 year old whose going to turn 17 next month to start consistantly? No matter how impressive he is that won't make up for the inexperience. He's only a kid.

R u stupid, name a proven International striker that you could pick up for less then 6 million.  A player who gives a hundred percent every game. I doubt u can think of one.

Okay, this is a big rumour from the Evening Standard (London) via SSN, so it does have a bit of credibility.

So Stevie G wants out, just a few weeks after winning the CL. He's told the club, Chel$ki have offered £32m, graffiti and shirt burnings dominate the news. He's sitting at home, upset, reluctant, waiting for the call from Liverpool saying that they've accepted an offer, and generally quite depressed and aprehensive, after all, this is Liverpool. The phone rings, and sure enough it's from LFC, but it isn't Parry on the other end, it's Benitez. Rafa knows the score. Maybe he hasn't seen everything eye to eye with Stevie, but he knows how important he is to Liverpool, so he makes hiim an offer he can't refuse. It's not about money or squad status or trophies. Rafa makes Stevie a promise of a player, who we will sign. When Stevie hears the name, he stops his sulking and agrees to pen a new contract, as long as this player signs on. That player, is Micheal Owen.

At least that's what the Standard is saying. We've heard this rumour before and have mentioned SWP, Raul, Figo and a few others. The Owen rumour has been around all summer and is widley regarded as a slow news day column filler, but this says that it is cosher. I said a while ago that, I wouldn't start on this subject again, which is why I'm not going to offer an opinion, but I thought it best to share.

yeah i saw that too ace but its been a while since stevie signed and it would seem a bit of an empty promise from rafa, as we all know a player cant be guaranteed to join unless he has signed

.. all this is speculation.. Gerrard has categorically said that he has won every club trophy going with us and now wants to add the PL title to his trove with LFC...

.. Owen made a promise to sign a contarct extension with us last yr, while his representatives primed Real in to making a bid for him .. in the end the new boss had no choice but to let him go to avoid a disastor in loosing a fee for him the following year..

... a year on... I don't believe Benitez will have made any such promises to Gerrard.. other  then the promise to build a team capable of winning the league around him (Gerrard)..  "your wanted son" , which is what he wanted to hear..Owen left of his own accord.. and Liverpool went on to become Euro champs.. and  Real flopped .. domestically and in Europe..

.. it's sad to see the plight of a player like Owen, who was revered here.. in Madrid there are just too many egos to compete against.. it's not Michael's style.. wherever he goes.. that is his choice.. just as it was his choice to leave LFC.. if Benitez does not want him.. then that is fine too.. after all he is the Boss..

Could it b possible to strike up a loan deal, this way owen gets to cum home, rafa can asess if he reely wants to sign him and it makes tha fans happy. Real also then can use there 3 brazilan strikers without any hasle from the media about owen scoring more and not being given a chance because the manager prefers players from his home country. They also get him off the wage bill. And Liverpool will have 4 top qualtiy strikers (assuming baros goes) all giving different options, alll with a good mentality jus the way rafa like um.  Win Win if u ask me.

.. the fans.. ie we are happy.. arn't we.. loan deals still mean that a proportion of  the salary is payed by the club the player is contracted too... Real will want him to leave out right..
