ST. MIKE'S RUMOUR THREAD - All silly season rumours here please

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby The Ace1983 » Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:09 pm

I hate times like this. We were linked with almost everyone for ages after Istanbul, but for the past couple of days we've had nothing. No prospects of superstars to dribble over, no hot young prospects for us to check up on with Google. Nothing. We had that Brazilian Kid earlier in the week, but not a sausage in ages. So I propose we start one now. Let's say...oh, I dunno...er... Got IT! Let's go out and inform all the news agencies, sky sports, other web forums, the bloke in the street and our mates in the pub that Rick Parry has been spotted in a bar, in Milan talking to Kaka! Everyone knows we need a right winger. We could have this on all of the back pages by tomorrow. :D

News on Milito

Alfonso Soláns: "If a player wants to leave, it's impossible to stop him"

Real Zaragoza president, Alfonso Soláns, used a common saying to define Milito's situation, with an offer from Liverpool, who are ready to pay €12m for the footballer. "I don't know what his will is, but i know we want him to stay. Altough, if a player says he wants to leave then it is impossible to stop him, what we have to do is to find the best opportunity when he decides to leave. We have the very recent case of [David] Villa" declared the main directive of the aragonés club, who also made official the intention of singing a striker, after repeated petitions from Víctor and the football director, and defended the preseason of the team.

Yet the main issue is Milito. The central defender will arrive tonight or tomorrow morning in Spain and on Monday he shall not only join training but also speak with the club, since that same day his agent, Eduardo Gammarnik will also land in Spain. "I have not spoken with him and i don't know wether the coaches have either. I'd like to believe that he will stay for many years and I'd be delighted if he renews his deal, but this is a negotiation that is in the hands of both parties.", said the zaragocista president. Zaragoza will offer the player €1.6m if he renews, the same amount Liverpool are offering, although there he could earn as much as €2.1m with incentives. The player has said to people close to him that he wants to leave, but it won't be until Monday when everything will be sorted out.

Well, according to Figo's statement he say's that he is staying at Real to see out the remainder of his contract. Now I seem to remember reading that Real wanted 2m for Figo and that Liverpool refused to pay that. So, what price on Figo staying at Real until the January transfer window and then moving to Liverpool on the package he has agreed with Rafa for free ?

That's because The Mail is only a reliable ketchup when it is talking about Chel$ki, Arsenal and Spurs. It has no contacts in Liverpool. I've found The Mirror to be the more accurate paper when it comes do dealing with LFC, although this summer they've gone a little bit haywire. They did have all the Stevie Gerrard stories first and they knew we we were hijacking Everscum's move for Sissoko before anyone else. The London Evening Standard is always right about West Ham, I've been told and Man Ure stories apparently always start in the Telegraph.

Yea he is a good player. both strong and quick, much needed attributes for a centre back.....Though pace can be matched by a good football brain (ie; good positioning and reading of the game etc;) if a CB tends to lack some!! But a CB has to have at least one or the other and to be honest Andrade looks to have both.

I would definetly bring him to Anfield, but then again I'm not the Manager am I!!!
