Yeah i know they haven't been scorin but there pace on the wing will frighten defenders and the y probabaly produce good crosses in nanda, milan,or cisse

so what, if you check which teams Thierry Henry scores the majority of goals against you would see that he gets most of his goals vs weaker teams, does this make his 25 premiership goals less of an acheivment?

In the last 11 games:

Luis Garcia - 4 goals
Stevie G - 2 goals
Sammi - 2 goals
Igor - 1 goal
Nando - 1 goal

If you count Luis Garcia as a midfielder, we've only got one goal from strikers in the last 11 games.  We've got 7 from midfield and 2 from defence.  SAMMI HAS SCORED MORE GOALS THAN ALL OUR STRIKERS PUT TOGETHER.

What is going on?!
:help

Although I've had a moan about our strikers (particularly Baros) failure to produce more goals ,obviously under Rafa the team is being attuned to score from all over instead of relying on just one or two individuals . I'm excited to see our midfielders banging them in and once our strikers start taking their chances as well "they'll have to bring a team from mars to beat us (shanks) "

:D

I'm not sure our strikers will start banging them in.  We've only got 3 or 4 games left this season.  I think Rafa might use Baros as bait in an exchange deal in the summer.  Cisse wasn't scoring before he broke his leg, and Nando is only scoring occasionally.  Surprisingly, I think Neil Mellor has looked like our best finisher up front this season.

Anyway, I'm too nervous right now to type any more, I'm off to listen to some calming music.

There is a quick solution to this. Since our midfielders are scoring more than our strikers, we should forget about the strikers and play 4-6-0. We should be scoring in bunches then. :D

Baros' finishing has been poor.
Nando is good, given good service - which hasn't happened.
Cisse is very quick, but looked lost earlier in the season (and hasn't scored since he broke his leg).
Sinama-Pongolle is very quick too, but not a natural finisher.
Mellor, certainly isn't quick, but instinctively finishes off chances, where the others seem to pause to think before shooting.  Pace is important, but too much emphasis is put on it for strikers these days.  Of all the world-class strikers you remember (1) how many were natural finishers (2) how many were quick?

Answers
(1) all of them
(2) fewer than half

I'm not saying Mellor is our best striker, just that he's one of our most natural finishers.

Not nice!  It was more a comment about the other strikers than it was about criticizing a young lad who always gives 100%.

hold up mate. i'm not criticising the lad, he's done well, scored some good goals and given us one particularly amazing moment we won't forget in a hurry. but do you really think he'll still be here next season?

He scored some important goals.

Its not like he scored against rubbish teams is it. :)

I like the lad, hope he'll be here next season.
