I hate to admit it but I think it is game over for 4th place and also i hate to admit that everton deserve it. I think we are the better team with better players and a better style of football but Our away form has been abismal our form terrible and this season we have looked a jackelnhaid (or however u spell it)team. we have had chances to go 4th but we havent taken them but all that's left to say is that the team are in a learning curve and I'm sure they will come back stronger than ever.

P.S. Hope we win the Champions League

Deserving hardly means anything these days in football. We deserved to beat Tottenham after a fantastic performance but didn't.

We deserved to beat Chelsea at Anfield but didn't. We didn't deserve to lose to Birmingham at home but did. We didn't deserve to be robbed at the Reebok earlier this season but we did.

Newcastle were in the position Everton are in now, while many thought that we couldn't finish fourth last year we did it anyway. Theres four games for us left, you can give up if you want to but theres points to be won and lost by both sides.

Everton and Bolton have done fantastically well on limited rescources it's true, but to say they "deserve" it more than us is a little premature. Despite having a limited budget, they haven't had to play Arsenal with Neil Mellor as their main striker. Nor have they gone into games without a midfield player to put on the bench, including reserves. Nor have they had to give a 19 year-old kid his debut in goal because everybody else is injured.
Needless to say they haven't played ten games in the Champions League either with all the associated travel so maybe we are not so undeserving ourselves. AB has it right, whoever gets it deserves it and good luck to 'em.

How many times has Everton saved their bacon by scoring in the last minutes of the game when they didn't deserve to get the point[s] as the opposition was clearly better? I've lost count.

BigMick makes a very good point, we've been in a competion which has drained our players, Champions League. Almost all of our players play for their country where as Everton hardly have any of their players on international duty.

Everton are 4th because we have played badly in a lot of games and really let them get away with it. Their season has been massively above par and ours has been terrible (in the league at least). So I'm not sure if either team deserve it...

No way do Everton deserve 4th place. Their team is full of dicks like ferguson who bully the opposition, foul, and get away with it cos "they've got no money...". Same as Rafa said- Bolton (And Everton) play to their own set of rules. Just cos theyve got the "underdog, no dosh" tag, it doesn't mean that they are allowed to cheat. They're a bunch of yobs kicking 10 shades of s*it out of any team they play, getting away with it, and climbing the table using unfair methods. Then you get nobs saying "oooh, well, I think thats OK because if I were Bull-dog-face, I'd do the same...". I'm sure if I was a fricking burgler I'd have broken into peoples houses - but I'm not. And it wouldn't be right no matter how much bulls*it I used to cover it up. Anyone who thinks Everton (or Bolton) deserve 4th place must have been watching the nob-rustlers differently to me! Lets be fair to Bolton - the sorry barstools took on El Goza Diouf. I rest my fricking case.

Whatever anyone says about Everton, no one can dispute the fact that their sheer determination this season has been so overwhelming that they or Moyes have managed to instill this into application and that they have done extremely well given their resources. This part, we can begrudge them because we are so lacking in this department.

If they finish 4th, it is because they have applied their skills and have backed it up by their dogged determination on so many occassions.

We HAVE had a terrible season, and yet we're still only 1 game behind 4th, what does that tell you!

everton are no way a better team than liverpool and don't have the class we have.but what the do have is a much stronger team spirit,they dig in when the goin gets tough and get results they don't deserve, they show a real british backbone and get stuck in from the first minute to the last.which is something we have lacked for many years.this season we have suffered with a lack of team spirit in many games,which is hardly suprising when we have a captain who doesn't know if he want's to play for the club or not,which must have some bearing on team spirit,lets face it,some of our best performances have been acheived when he,s not been in the side.!!

its difficult to say but i'll be utterly dissappointed if we unable to achieve the 4th spot.but i do agree,tat whoever gets the 4th spot,they deserves it though.!!

. ...What the... don't "Deserve".. we didn't deserve to loose the League Cup final.. and if we get fourth, which I fully expect we will, we'll get it cos we had enuff points ..
