Lfc player of the year - Who's your player of the year

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

hmmm takes a little thinking about this.
its hard on gerrard because he has to look like maradona for people to say he has had a good game whilst carragher only has to be steady (which isnt easy, but at least he doesnt have to produce 40 yard pin point accuracy passes, lung busting runs, crunching tackles and dictate games to qualify).
it`s easier to be destructive in football than constructive but taking all this into account i still think carragher deserves it for his overall contribution.
gerrard and xavi alonso a close second.

Gerrard?

He hasnt' done enough this season, last season without a doubt, this season? You must be joking.

We've often looked better when Gerrard hasn't played this year.

Carragher without a doubt.

With Finnan and Riise a close second.

At least this year theres been more than 1 candidate unlike the last 2 years.

agree with that stu.

on a more specific note, have you also noticed that the majority of Biscan's better performances this season have also come when gerrard hasn't been playing? when he plays alongside gerrard he has always looked somewhat in awe of him. however, against deportivo and leverkusen especially, he was allowed to control the game whilst hamann just sat.

Carragher no doubt about it

My personal opinion is that Carra n Terry should be the two centre halfs for the Premiere League's Team of the Year

Gotta go along with Carra, jus a shame defenders rarely, if ever, win the player of the year awards from the writers and players associations. Ok, Jamie may not have been the best and most consistent player in the EPL, but he certainly has at LFC. Hope after last weeks man of the match thing they don't ask Stevie to hand him the trophy tho!!

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Definetly Jamie Carragher with Finnan and Rise a close second and third

Riise,
For reversing all that negative ****** of couple of Seasons under Gargamel.

I would say Carra too (for character and spirit) but we've let in alot and he has been 50% of the CB partnership.

I would give the award to Salif Diao, as I think he wasn`t given a fair chance of showing his true potential under Rafa. Quality through and through
