Dont let your anger at the manner of his leaving cloud the memories of all HE DID for the club

Fact: the manner of him leaving us for Real sucks!
Fact: he does wonder for the club (for the first few years anyway). But I doubt he will command the guaranteed first XI place if he returns, he will have to start all over again and compete with the likes of Milan, Nando and Cisse.

I won't reject him if he does come back but I won't sacrifies Milan for him...

Nice one Lee,
It's good rumour, has a germ of credibility with all this talk of bid's for Baros from Italy and the fact that Owen keeps bulging the net but is not yet accepted as 1st eleven regular.
Probably too complicated and too contentious to be true, but it has stirred up some interest.

??? More bullsh#t how can we sell him on tuesday? ???

Liverpool star to make Italian move?
By European Football - January 20 2005

According to the Italian media Fiorentina could be on the verge of persuading Liverpool to part with Baros. Although the move has been speculated for a week or so but it was thought unlikely.

But if the press are right, Liverpool chiefs agreed to sell the player on Tuesday, providing the deal is done quickly and its cash up front so they can bring in a replacement.

Fiorentina need a replacement for Javier Portillo, who returned to Real Madrid. But Liverpool’s injury list must still be cause for concern. So if the Italian press do turn out to be right, you can only assume that Liverpool must have a replacement already in mind.

I know now that certain members on here will now jump all over me claiming it's bullsh!t, which it maybe, but I have a inside source who is usually reliable. I can not reveal him on here cos he works for the club, internally.

Surely it couldn't be happening already. And if it did who the ****** would we play in the CL for the rest of this season??
Owen wouldn't want to admit defeat like that, and well the players never seem to be the same when they return to the club after being at another :(

Owen will die on the bench in Madrid just like McManaman did before him. After a while people won't care about him anymore. Just like we forgot Macca we will forget him. macca left with a big reputation and came crawling back with his tail between his legs and a big fat bank account. The same thing will happen to midget.

There are apparently Uefa or FIFA rules that prevent Owen from being transfered back to LFC in the same season, so it ain't on in January anyway.

Jesus the newbies don't seem to be doing themselves any favours this evening  :Oo:
Why would we want MO back? Because the lad is absoultely top drawer!! He's scoring goals for fun in Spain, however he will never get a starting place in the team ahead of Raul and Ronaldo.... fact, and when Robiniho arrives he will be pushed down further again. To the best of my knowledge there was a clause inserted in the transfer that Liverpool had first refusal on MO if Madrid ever decide to sell him.

As for Baros being sold.... that is a crock of sh*t. Rafa is not going to sell the only international quality striker we have eligible for the CL in the January sales... that's absolute madness.

So please think before you post sometimes people  :)

Without question a fully fit and motivated Owen is a class act. Alas we haven't seen that at Liverpoool for some time, and it's certainly true to say that he never covered himself in glory in the way he conducted his contract negotiations. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't hanker for the old days somewhat, and particularly if Gerrard plans to stay it wouldn't be the most incredible piece of news of the year if he expresses a wish to return at the end of the season. He would have to accept though that his status has changed and the fawning of Foolier is well and truly a thing of the past. I can't help feeling however that he would bust every scoring record going if he played for us now. We'll see.
On the question of Baros, I'm not inclined to slag the messenger. I like reading Lee's posts and he does seem to be right at least some of the time which is more than you can say for most of the crystal-ball merchants on here. Maybe you have got a source Lee but I can't help thinking he's barking in the wrong postcode here. Baros is probably our most important player right now and I even include Gerrard in that statement. Simply put, if Milan doesn't do the biz in the CL quarter final we will go out. He won't be sold.
