I thought Garcia was actually OK today. To anyone who is looking for him to put in crunching tackles though, let me tell you it'll be a long wait. He's not that type of player.
I firmly believe however that in time (probably next season) he will be a fantastic player for us, I really do.

Garcia had a very positive game today, as I have just said in another post, the presence of Morientes gave him a focus that has been lacking in some of his more recent play.

andy_g wrote:to be honest i thought garcia wasn't so bad today - better than he was against watford and not our worst player today. he got into some good positions and made some good aggressive runs towards the box. the problem is his end product, either running into a blind alley and losing the ball or choosing the wrong pass. i think we need to give benitez more time to work with him and improve this part of his game. if that can happen we'll have a useful player who will always offer something different.

and to chip in on that first comment 'no more spaniards please'. yeah, no more of that alonso or morientes type cr.ap eh?

my feelings exactly. very well said.

Todays defeat was defined on 1st Jan, when Lampard took out Alonso. The fact that we have lost our playmaker has pulled Gerrard back into a less advanced mid-field role. Thus, today we were overrun in the central mid-field area and spent too much time playing out of our own half. As a result Gerrard had one of his most ineffectual games all season. There was however some comfort to be gained from the new boys, Pellegrino may lack pace, but he is cool and solid when under pressure, knows when to clear a ball and when to play it out. Morientes, when he is match fit, will bring a lot to the front line in terms of direction and leadership. Whoever we play next will feel the backlash of today !!

I'ts not often I go out and intentionally insult all my fellow LFC supporters on this forum BUT next time you have an enema tell the doctor to stick the pipe in your ear instead of your ar''se 'cause thats where the sh'it is . Garcia is a very talented player BUT I have lost count of the number of times he has wasted glorious opportunities ,made under hit passes ,lightweight tackles , and selfish shots . I think he's so determined to do the clever/spectacular that his brain forgets that he is part of a TEAM !
I'm not denying his skill , just ******'ed of with his wasteful attitude when he has the ball .

Why is it when we sufer a loss as we did today that we have to find a villian or two  to somehow explain away what was a poor TEAM performance ? ???

Garcia has the necessary skills to be a class player for LFC. Rafa now has to earn his crust by coaching the selfishness & "flash git" out of him and getting him playing for the team rather than just trying to do the spectacular. Remember he's only been here 5 months, I think he'll do just fine and to single him out as "the weakest link" is just f*ckin ridiculous

But I see that as a coaching issue, look at how Baros is improving. Garcia definitely has the ability to cut the mustard at Anfield

Evening Al on this rather sad day  :(

Spot on with the comments mate . I really shouldn't come on here on days like this when the numpties come out in force   ???

Heard a lot about Dudek, Garcia , Ref, MU fans, Players etc..... but most of it is a smokescreen to hide the fact we played pants today ....

A few encouraging points though to cheer us both up...  :D

1. Morientes had a fir debut, showed touches of his class

2. We have a new flag where I sit , all the lads have clubbed together, hope you spotted it on SKY

3. Ronney, although a genius with a football is destined to do something seruiously stupid soon and Man u wil have to pick up the pieces.

4. You had to laugh when that mobile went flying through the air, however had it been edible I don't think it would have passed rooney's mouth do you ?  :D

OK Wooly , you're saying that my observation  that Garcia may be the weakest link is "Fking ridiculous "! . Enlighten me and explain your point of view . From my end Garcia (and I have never denied his skill) has been wasteful ,selfish and lightweight.
over to you
