Lets be realistic here - Is the manure defeat really a surprise?

yes smartarse, but ill think you find his general passing was very poor today, and when taking free-kicks they just sailed into roy carrolls arms

Our midfield didn't bother to pass the ball to the forwards at all, I can't blame Pelle for trying.

Yes he is slow, that was said when we signed him. He's an intelligent and tough defender, great at zonal marking. He's not the reason we lost.

He is a stop-gap measure.... Finnan is injured today, so who would you play ?

Carra   Hyppia Traore Risse ?

         or
Carra Hyppia Pelle  Traore (with risse on the left wing).

Rock this fella here doesn't knowh is elbow from his a$$. If our midfield had controlled the game and passed well, Pellegrino or Hyypia wouldn't had to use long balls. Not having Finnan affected our plan. With Finnan we could had attacked more down the flank, Carragher is not the attacking type, he's a good player a good defender but he doesn't attack.

Keane and Scholes where outstanding today and got the better of Gerrard and Hamann. United are on a run and we just could not breach them today. Best team won simple as that

precisely. pelle has only been here for a week now. And he hasn't played much too. How can anybody expect him to be at a 100 %. I thought he played really well for someone who never play enuff this season.

In fact, i think pelle will eventually become a great signing for rafa. If you think hyppia is good during corners...check out pelle....

i actually went the game, and i was sitting by the divide in the anfield road end, the mancs were ****** themselves at him.
i take into consideration that he needs to get settled but he was awful today, if he needs to adapt that much, leave him in the reserves a bit longer instead of playing him in one of the most important matches of the season.( important cos their is a lot of pride at stake when playing the mancs.)

cue for some smart ****** to say our champions league games are more important

I don't know whether you read what was said here previously in this thread, Pellegrino wasn't expected to start. The reason he started was because Finnan could not pass a fitness test as he has an injury which explains why Carragher did not play in his normal position and why Pellegrino started.

sorry to sound somewhat naive but i was under the impression that henchoz was still at the club, although him and hyypia dont get on(rumours) or the other lad whitbread

You do realize that Henchoz wants to leave this club? Whats the point of playing him when the player wishes to leave. He's not a good defender in the Zonal Marking system.

Whitbread on the other hand has a hell of a lot of bread [no pun intended] to eat before he gets a start in a match like the one today.

i think he played carragher wide because rafa was expecting giggs to play.

Not quite, because Jamie had to play right back because Steve Finnan and Josemi are injured.

David Raven hasn't got many experience. Hopefully he will play some of first team this season to get more experience for the future.

never thought of that.

i know a lot of clubs are monitoring the stevie g situation, but be prepared for a club coming and offering silly amounts of money for JC, he has been brilliant this season

It may not be Dudeks fault we lost (because a good team should have turned it around) but these constant schoolboy errors will always hurt the moral of the team. It has happened so many times and by not addressing it, we would be guilty of hiding our head in the sand. Him being Polish is irrelevant. Him making error after error after error, is the issue.
