i would say 3m tops
but man city still owe French club Paris Saint Germain £5m from the purchase of Anelka in 2002.
i dont see them selling him for anything less that 10m

i was reading that madrid rejected our bid for Fernando Morientes of 3.5 mill and told us to double our offer.

7 mill for anelka

Fernando Morientes is the better player and has less of a attitude.

Id pay up to £6million maybe try and throw henchoz into the deal to cut the price down, cos we know he would get us goals especially if we carry on with the formation from sunday him and baros would put them away for fun with stevie & xabi putting them through on goal.

Although I agree that an additional defender would be very handy I would take Anelka AND Morientes without hesitation if the price was right . With a strike force of Baros Morientes Anelka and (when fit again) Cisse I think our attacking options would be well sorted for a few seasons at least. If we pick them up in Jan, come the summer Rafa could allocate any additional spending money to our defensive requirements.
