Anelka would do wonders here i reckon , and would relish playing at a big club like Liverpool with a great manager like Benitez - why oh why did Houllier opt for EHD over him? unsolved mystery.

Any prospective manager is going to be aware of his 'baggage'

Quote's from Keegan :

Anelka recently suggested in a magazine article he would like to play in the Champions League again, comments which upset manager Kevin Keegan.

Keegan said: "When a player starts to say he wants to join a big club, that alienates the fans because Manchester City is a big club.

"Instead of writing articles, he should concentrate on getting on the pitch and scoring the goals that will take us into the Champions League. That is what he is paid to do.

"He signed a six-year contract here and he still has three years left. That is why some of the fans are upset and I feel the same way."

you can kind of understand where he is coming from though.

Imagine you are in his situation:

you have played for the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid and have mountains of talent, you get a chance at Liverpool, one of the greatest clubs in England and the manager signs some idiot by the name of El-Hadji Dioud instead of you, and you end up at Manchster City who are fighting for relegation, meanwhile EHD who doesn't have half the taelnt you do is playing in Europe while you are considereing perhaps being relegated into the first division.

i think otherwise. He's got the physical size to do it. And he's rather good at that too with his skill.
i just prefer him to go for the kill :D

i don't understand why everyone is still harping on about anelka's attitude. in all fairness i don't remember the guy throwing a major strop since he was at real madrid. in a good side he'd be top quality. you can understand him for feeling that man city can not fulfill his ambitions.

Does this make Steven G have a bad attitude to express his desire to win medals even if he may have to leave in the future.
Or Milan Baros saying that Barcelona is his dream club?
What about M Owen going to Real Madrid because they are a bigger team and he wants to win things!

Anelka is no more stroppy then pretty much every other footballer out there!

Anelka would bring a guarantee with him GOALS.
Hes een here b4 and delivered the goods and from day 1 if it comes off he wouldnt need any settlin in period and would b off n running.
I personally think rafa has his 2 or 3 signings already pin pointed and all thats left is to dot the i's and cross the ts. Hes as old school as u can get in modern football, journos and fans get to know about siginings when they have been signed sealed and delivered. I like that, it bodes well for the future.

Somethings wrong when the players seem to be getting face time in the papers about what players should and shouldn't be bought, who's running the club anyway?

I would like to see the manager's view being expressed and not SGs on this topic.

Let players play and manager's manage and let the fans have opinions on all of it :D

Anelka is a proven goal scorer!

The decision to let him go was not definately the correct one!
I think Juve will kick themselves for letting Henry go!

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

anelka scored 20 goals in a manchester city side that nearly got relegated. he also would have been more prolific in a superb arsenal side had he not been sold for financial reasons.

Yer right of course but then why did we let a "proven goal scorer go". I think the answer was that other issues got in the way and he is a bit of a moody cow and when that happens he dont score goals.

Anelka has mood swings like a woman and so you have to manage this and I cant see Raf doing that but then Anelka is waiting for a bigger club so perhaps LFC aint bif enuff for his ego (or as we netters say alto ego...or whatever that means).
