GK   Kirkland
RB    Finnan
DEF   Henchoz
DEF    Hypia
LB    Carragher
LM   Risse
MID Gerrard
MID Biscan
RM Warnock
ATT Kewell
ATT Pongolle

Carragher can play well as a left back,w eve seen it before, and then we can use risse on the left, if it doesnt work out we can bring risse left back and pull in kewell and play with al one striker with an extra midfielder (hamman) available

Someone better e-mail or fax this through to Rafa cos I got a feeling he'll do summat similar to how we started against monaco. Probably have Mellor (i really dont rate him) up front on his own again. Biscan will start & hopefully by some miracle Nunez may get a run out maybe for the last 20mins or so - would be good to see him.

It's gonna be a long game with plenty of goals, unfortunatly I can't see many of them going our way -  :(

I'd be happy as a pig in $hit if we came away with 3 points!  :)

On LFC TV site they announced Nunez will line up in reserves but Rafa the gaffer has made it clear he isnt for ready for any length of first team action.
Anyway best of luck to Nunez tonight

NUNEZ READY FOR REDS DEBUT
Paul Eaton 25 November 2004
Antonio Nunez will finally get his Liverpool career up and running when he lines up for the reserves at Leeds tonight.
The former Real Madrid midfielder is yet to kick a ball for the Reds after suffering a knee injury in only his second training session with the club.

He is expected to play from the start tonight, but manager Rafael Benitez insists he isn't yet ready to be considered for first team selection.

"It is a danger to bring him back too soon, it will be his first game for us in the reserves, and he needs two more weeks work to be fit enough for the first team," said the boss.

Look out for confirmed team news for tonight's game on Liverpoolfc.tv later today.
Forever Red in this life and the next

i'd go for this (assuming traore is out injured).

                                   kirkland

            finnan       hyypia       carragher      riise

            kewell       alonso        biscan         warnock

                                   gerrard

                                   pongolle

gerrard needs to be given the licence to influence the play higher up the pitch because our general lack of attacking presence makes it hard to see where the goals are going to come from.

Really hate to do this. But we have to take a que from the scums & play dirty.

Bully the arsenal players & eventually they will succumb. So i am recalling diao back to the starting line-up to do philip neville's role (ie... foul the opposing player who has the ball asap).

Diao, Biscan & Hamann to protect the defence. This allows finnan & risse to attack when given chance. Gerrard & Alonso will provide the ammunition.

And i am sticking with kewell for the striker's role. i know he sucked in the last 30 games for us. But the thing is, he can hold the ball up much better than mellor & pongolle (which is a very impt attribute for a lone striker role). We can then bring in pongolle in the last 10 mins to run at the arsenal defence.

Sounds good ? Most probably it will not work. But if sunday was 1 of those days, we could win with this team i reckon.

oh come on. why does our defence need three midfilders protecting it? by suggesting that you're basically saying our defence isn't good enough. playing diao in any game is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

our defence is ok, like i said we can put carragher left back, push up risse and just go for the attack, we'll have hamman defending the defence, we know he never leaves the half way line if he can help it

I agree. If Man City who were hammered with injuries beat Chelsea at home we can beat Arsenal at home if we play with inteligence and heart like Palace and Bromich did.

The lads are up for it, they know that this might be the biggest game of the season.

Of course i think our defence is not good enuff. Apart from carra, i will not have the rest of the defenders in my fantasy liverpool team.

Diao sucks. i am the first to accept it.

But for me hyppia is starting to suck as well. Hamann by himself can't protect the defence against the runs that arsenal players are capable of. Pires, viera, cole, lauren, henry, reyes, lundberg....these players can rip our defence to pieces (if we play like we did against boro).

So thought that biscan & diao can help out. Putting diao in the team is desperate, but these are desperate times. My thinking is that, Diao can probably take out half the arsenal team and then get send off. We should be able to win then  :D
