We need a better performance than last week that's for sure, look players can be in or out of form - that happens, form is something ephoral which is often in the hands of the footballing gods but one thing players do definitely have control over is how much effort they choose to put in.
We should not be getting outworked by anyone we really shouldnt, throughout our glory years we were famed for our workrate, the old chestnut often said about us is that we had an extra man on the pitch such was the shift our players used to put in. Shankly's revolution was built upon hard work - he called it 'honesty', that was the secret to our success, getting talented players to work their ar.ses off. It was the backbone of Jurgen's success too, even Arsenal now, its no surprise they topped the distance covered stats last weekend, look at how hard their players work to get back goalside any time they lose the ball. Hard work and success go hand in hand not just in football but in life too.
I'll be interested to see the distance covered stats after this weekend, lets see if wearing the red shirt actually means something to our players or whether this club is just somewhere to get a wage..

I agree 100%.Hopefully the more us supporters and the press discuss it, it will demand the players to give more. I don’t expect to go from last year running the least to now running the most, but we need to see consistent improvement as the season progresses where we end up running the most by season’s end. We also need to start playing for clean sheets again, I hope Iraola can sort that out first.

We need Grav and Mac in midfield, we are too open with Wirtz and Szob in the same 11.

Same old same old

The quality of Kerkez and Frimpong when they get into dangerous areas is absolutely appalling. They even mentioned before HT that they only had 1 assist each last season. Not seeing enough from Isak, and when a ball does come into the box he's either on his heels, or his touch lets him down. Szoboszlai was dwelling on the ball too long something I moaned alot about last year, and its giving Forrest the chance to get back into position. A few positives is that Munoz kid looks good, and his pace cause a few problems that first half..I think Wirtz had a decent half, he was unlucky with the offside goal, and also unlucky with his header. Its pretty obvious we're missing a CDM who can break up play.

Agree 100% ! Why the hell we sold Robbo and hung on to Kerkez is beyond my understanding   
The only bright spark for me in this match so far has been the young French CB Jaquet.

Like last year we are moving the ball too slow and giving them time to reorganize, painful to watch. I agree about Munoz, full of speed and tenacity which we really need. I think he put Munoz left to help cover for the slow Kerkez. With Barcola left and Munoz right, there is no need for Gakpo. He’s a decent player but not quick enough and doesn’t press enough.

Absolute turgid shyte that first half. Players hiking out of 50/50 tackles, can't put a decent cross in  the box, Kerkez like a lamb to the slaughter, Frimpong utterly useless. It's embarrassing to watch this

I'm trying to cut the new manager some slack. Some players late back after the world cup. A few long term players gone, few new faces.
But the spine (if I can even say that) of this team has been there a while, others at least a whole season.
But that performance, especially the first half, is simply nowhere near the standards we expect from this club. I can't help thinking that there isn't a single local player on the pitch or one who has come through the academy, who will thunder into a tackle, who will not accept the muck on show there today.
I looked at the benches and nearly sh@t myself when I compared what Nottingham Bleedin' Forest had in comparison to us.
And that says it all.
Spending stupid transfer fees on Barcola when both our fullbacks are pure mule. Not spending on a DM or CM either.
If every fan and pundit under the sun can see it, why can't LFC see it?

Its no suprise that we got some sort of the control after both Kerkez and Frimpong went off. How long did it take the 3rd official to sort out his boards so we could get the 3 subs on? 60 mins the ball went out, then it went out again the 63rd min and he still wasn't ready.. Iraola went over to argue this point. Then Forrest go and get the penalty with all this going off. So frustrating, the ref was awful today.
