The most wasted year ever, I'd say

I’ve said this so many times…

I take losing. I can handle us dropping points to dross.

But I can’t take this dog sh1t football.

Slot has sucked all of the passion, intensity and joy from our game.

He has to go.

The 3 on 2 at the end. What would you have given for Bobby and Sadio instead

You don't even feel enthused to watch us anymore. Whenever we played I used to look forward to that day, now I honestly can't be asked. I feel for the fans who pay and watch that shyte at the ground.

The post match interview with Slot shows just how utterly clueless he is and how out of his depth he is. It's embarrassing the dross he comes out with.

Today's game was massive so why were we resting defenders, Konate and Kerkez should have started today, there's only 9 weeks of the season left what are we saving them for.
United have opened up a tidy gap between them and the likes of us and Chelsea.

We need to start asking questions about our players also. So many opportunities to put them away but we didn’t then the customary defensive error to gift the other team a goal at the  death, how many times have we seen that? No leaders in the team that take control in situations like that, we have become so mentally soft.

Without being emotional,I think we need to replace Van Dyke, he will never be a great player again. He was our heart and soul and now he is just an error waiting to happen, hard to see it frankly. We will never be a top team with errors like we’ve seen in defence this year, it’s been laughable and some real Sunday league stuff, I won’t blame the manager for that. I never would have thought we would become this bad defensively but it’s happened.

Anyone that has had dogs on a farm will know that once your dog learns to kill a chicken it will always be a dog that kills chickens, you can’t unteach it. Similarly the kind of errors we have been seeing this year cannot be unlearned and would not miraculously stop with a new manager, errors like those will only increase…. Just like the dog that kills chickens. Konaté and VVD have looked very average so many times this year and made so many individual errors that led to dropped points, how can we possibly think that next year they will be top class again. We have been sh1t defensively this year and it’s mainly down to individual errors. How do you stop the dog from killing chickens? You give it away to someone that doesn’t have chickens    because once it learns to kill chickens it becomes part of it repertoire….. just like error prone defenders.

Those errors have happened so many time now that the crowd expect it, the announcers talk about it and the players now seem resigned to it. I, like every one of us, expected that to happen at the time it happened, it was so obvious.

Hard disagree on van Dijk. This same talk is like a deja vu from a few years ago when people said he's finished and then he went on to be the best again when we got back into form.

He's had the most headed duels won and the most clearences in the league this season, while he's been nowhere near the top in past seasons, because he's never been under so much pressure in previous seasons. This season a lot has been asked of him and obviously when he has so much work to do mistakes are more likely to happen. People look at his individual errors because he's the last man to make the mistake but don't look at how we've allowed the opposition to get into a position that would lead to those errors. I am 100% certain that we would be worse off if Virgil wasn't here.

The blame is on the team as a group and not down to individual players. And usually when the group isn't performing well then the problem is with the manager.

We’d be midtable without VVD

At this point you have to look at Slot for the state we are in as hes still doing the same thing and sticking with that dreadful style. Its dog slow, creates very little and always leaves us vulnerable. I just dont see it as a winning formula at all. Not in this league. What is it with him not being able to drop Gakpo as well. What is he seeing that we dont because its a head scratcher how hes making a starting 11 every week. Him and Salah need to be reduced to coming off the bench as thats all they are good for.  Szobozlai at RB again is just daft as options are available again. He still doesn't know what his best team is almost a full season in.

That was awful turgid stuff again today. Not enjoyable to watch and you just knew that equaliser was coming.

He came back from injury which was different, he cannot beat time. He is not as fast as he was before his injury but now he seems to have lost another step. If we want to be a top club then we need top defenders and I think VVD will only decline and it’ll be exponential. The injuries catch up to you when you are older. Having the most headed duels won did not stop us having the most conceded  goals from corners. Defensively this year we got the perfect storm of age, last year of a contract and injuries. I think also that it’s our defense that has let us down this year and we conceded to many poor goals from stupid errors. The elephant in the room is how badly the players on the field played, not tactics. Don’t get me wrong, I too fall asleep watching us play and miss the hustle and bustle that Klopp brought but the players need to shoulder a lot of the blame, we are being too kind to them merely blaming Slot. Some of our conceded goals this year have been laughable errors.

It's not only him that defends corners mate. Having the most headed duels won didn't stop us from having the most goals conceded from corners but it does go in his favour as proof that it's not his fault that that happens. He's not as good as he once was and obviously he's gonna decline as he gets older as all players do but he's not there yet (unlike Salah). I can name at least a dozen defenders that went on to be great players until their late 30s, a recent example is Thiago Silva who was Chelsea's best player when he was 38, I'm pretty sure Virgil can compete at the highest level to a similar age.

Take a look at his individual stats mate, he tops a bunch of stats that are usually led by the likes of James Tarkowski and other similar defenders who play in teams that are constantly under pressure and allowing their opponents to create many chances. We can get any top defender you want but even prime Maldini would struggle in this team the way we play at the moment. And for the record I'm not blaming only Slot, actually far from it, but VVD is at the bottom of a list of players I'd blame for anything.

It was a appalling result, but it wasn't a shocking result. We kinda all sat there and saw the signs. We let Spurs have chance after chance until we finally collapsed. I wouldn't have been happy coming away with a 1-0 tbh, I thought we were awful today.

I hope these bad results actually have repercussions.. otherwise its for nothing. Slots man management has been awful, his stubbornness has unsettled so many players. To play Gakpo 2 games in a row as a striker instead of Ekitike is criminal.
