We're at times complaining about Trent but anyone noticed how poor Robertson has been. A shadow of himself, Slot should give Tsimkas a start for few games. We definitely need a solid LB.

Robbo gives 100% every game, but it's pretty evident that he's not the player he was a few years ago. He can't recover from his or others mistakes.. and he tries to make up for his mistakes and messes up even more with a rash challange.

We need a LB

Sadly true as he has been a big part of our success without the hype other players get. It’s clear though that he’s lost a step.

He's on big money for our standards too, round 150-160k a week, so I could even see him get moved on, if not this summer then for sure the next when his contract expires. He wasn't very good last season and this season he's been worse so yeah I guess he's done at this level and we'll probably have a new LB next season.

Robbo will always be a club legend. And at his prime he could make a mistake and then sprint back to make amends and get the ball back.

But he’s not the player he once was. He’s lost a couple of yards and at times it looks like his body just isn’t up to it.

Horrible to see (he’s one of my favourite players) but at the very least he shouldn’t play more than once a week.

I’d sign a replacement and use his as a squad player until his contract runs out - he still has lots to offer.

Looks like he’ll be off to Spurs this window, I cannot fault him as he’s been a true servant to the club and I’m sure he needs more minutes for the World Cup. I wish him all the best. Another of the old leaders leaves the club.

Sad to see him go, but who replaces him?

Old guard is gradually finishing, would've hoped he'd stay till end of season, but yeah he prolly needs to play more. A true servant

I read that also. Mind you i also read today that Bayern actually came looking for Gakpo in the summer but we sid no and offered Diaz instead.

Actually I think this might be true as I recall Gakpo himself saying it a couple of months back. We've not been very smart with transfers so I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. Arne is getting a lot of criticism but it's Hughes that also needs to be reevaluated at the end of the season.

I had a bit of a brain fart, he's not in Turkey he's apparently at Roma and like you I've seen a brief report that we're thinking of recalling him.

He'll go down and be remembered as one of the genuine greats of this club as will anyone who was part of that team which broke our 30 year title hoodoo. Easy to forget now but Trent and Robbo basically redefined the role of modern fullback with the sheer number of assists they were racking up, they were often ahead of a prime Kevin De Bruyne in the assists charts.
He gave the team a bit of dog and a bit of fight as well, when Bill Shankly put the famous THIS IS ANFIELD sign up he said it was there to remind our players who they are playing for and the opposition who they are playing against, if you wanted to explain or demonstrate what Bill meant in a single picture or image you couldnt find a better example than Robbo getting right into Messi's face in the European Cup semi final second leg in 2019.
He only played one half he got injured by Suarez but that night and especially in that image he epitomised everything a Liverpool player is and should be, to be fair he has done that his entire Liverpool career, from when he first introduced himself to us with his one man press or was that one man army impression against Man City right through to now where he's sat on the bench for 18 months without uttering a peep and put the good of the club before his own career.
Anyone who knows anything about the history of this game, the true king of sports, knows that english football would be nothing without scotland, it was actually a scotsman, the then chairman of aston villa who actually came up with the idea of a league where teams played each other home and away, the same is true when it comes to this club, scotland has given us everything, it gave us our first ever team and gave us players that became more than players and managers that became more than managers, scotland gave this club a heart, it gave us a soul and it gave us Andrew fv.cking Robertson as well.
