Liverpool Football Club - Games

Not a vintage performance by any means, more than a hint of luck about both goals but we at least looked up for the fight, we won a lot more tackles and stuff like that, thought Bradley had a particularly good game in that regard, for the first time in ages he looked a lot more like the lad that first broke into the team and was putting pressure on Trent.
If we could somehow manage to stop leaking goals as crazy as it sounds we could still actually do something this year, in the 3 points for a win era 7 points is a decent gap but by no means unsurmountable and at some point Isak will hit form, if we could just somehow hold the fort until January, i.e don't let things get any worse, and then pay over the odds if we have to to get Guehi and maybe another decent CB things could change around very, very quickly.
To be fair to us even when we are playing absolutely sh.yte we do always seem to manage to score, it's the defence, our leaky-ass defence is letting the whole effin club down.

I think we look way more solid at the back with Bradley and Robbo.. Robbo off the ball was playing as a CAM just behind Ekitike. Stylistically Villa played into our hands playing out from the back and for once we punished a team from it. We conceded a few big chances, but Villa failed to take advantage. No idea why he put Wirtz on for the last 15 as a center forward.. his weakness has been holding the ball up physically, so the ball just kept coming back and putting us under pressure.

Im abit lost on what we do with Wirtz tbh.. we look better defensively without him in the team. And for some bizarre reason Salah has been refusing to pass to him and build a relationship. As soon as Dom is back playing CAM Salah wants to link up.

Re Wirtz I think eventually he'll team up with Isak and Ekitike to become our front line and to be fair, on paper at least, it looks one hell of a front line.
Now whether we play with a slightly narrower attack with Wirtz dropping in-behind the other 2 [in the classic number 10 position] or he starts out wide and then is maybe given licence to drift i don't know, i guess we'll have to wait and see.
