We worked for the win and fully deserved them...can't say the same for City nor Chelsea. They were practically gifted their wins

No team plays well for 9 solid months, what separates the best from the rest though is the ability to consistently pick up 3 points when you're not quite firing on all cylinders. We did that last week and we did it again today.
Long way to go yet and I'm sure there'll be plenty of twists and turns along the way before this season is over but so far so good.

We actually played well and worked some good openings but a bit rubbish with the final ball. Too many aimless balls into the box instead picking out a teammate. Also had a couple of easy chances in the 2nd half that we should have buried. Villa offered nothing until they went behind but I can't recall Ali having to make a save. Ref was also a W*nk*r which contributed to the crowd getting fired up and creating a great atmosphere.

Vital 3 points, well done lads. How come the press never mention Mo's contract situation any more?

That was always going to be a hard game for us. Stevie has settled in well there and the players wanted to reward him with a performance. They were organised and with just a bit more luck could have gone home with a point.

We were dominant throughout and did play well but just not in the final 3rd. Mane was looking for anything but getting nothing. Ox didn't work out today in that role either and Salah had the full focus of their defence. They pretty much smothered him for the game. Delighted we won in the end and I thought it was a pen but given how dominant we were it's a bit disappointing that's what it took to settle it. Not complaining as I knew this would be a tough game for us because it was stevies return.

At one point today it looked like the other two would drop points only to win out late so its important we won ourselves. Hopefully the Chavs are hitting a sticking point and will drop a few over Christmas  :laugh:

Watched it on bein sports and they were also showing the build up to the Arab Cup game featuring Egypt. The amount of Liverpool jerseys was unreal  :laugh:

Crazy penalty day. At least ours was justified. Not quite at our best but another win. The next 7 weeks are going to define the league.

A valuable win against a tough team, however, our players have played well in parts, but they were wasteful and aimless crosses from Trent, above all was getting the three points and clean sheet.
