What about the people clapping him, that's not right either. From what I saw, it was 50/50 at the stadium, one half booed and the other clapped. What is there to clap for? It would have been best to just give him the silent treatment, like he's a nobody, which he is, just another rando that happend to play for us.

Clapping is fine if you want or don’t if you don’t  want, booing however just makes us look bad, like all the other teams and we are better than that.

Trent: There's an interview with Kenny on his first day of training at Melwood. He was asked why he left Celtic and his response was 'Ambition.' Trent has left LFC for the same reason so why is there a difference? Incoming players with ambition are ok but outgoing are not? LFC fans need to grow up.

Personally I wouldn’t boo Trent but I wouldn’t clap him either at this point. On the one hand thankful for what he’s done for LFC (LFC have done a lot for him too by the way) and on the other hand just disappointed in him for the way he’s engineered this move. From the 4 year contract signed previously, to the radio silence this season despite being VC. He and his agent brother will pocket a massive signing on fee instead of the club getting some money back to re-invest. Don’t underestimate how much that screws us in the PSR era of football. Madrid obviously tapped him up a long way back and although some of this is on the club (sporting director changes haven’t helped), let’s face it contract offers were made and he’s still decided to go. To that snake club too.

So for me, he has to take his medicine in the stadium. People feel how they feel. As long as he isn’t getting vile abuse on match days or online then boos are ok. Personally I wouldn’t as it clearly has a negative effect on how Trent and other players play, case in point yesterday. But I won’t criticise those who do.

Booing him was wrong

And imo Slot should have read the situation better and kept him away to ensure the atmosphere didn’t turn toxic

Agree re Slot keeping him away. He can’t be in the squad these last 2 games hopefully Arne has learned from that.

Difference is Kenny left for a transfer fee so Celtic were compensated. Trent is joining one of the richest clubs in the world, and we're not even receiving a penny.

Celtic received a record transfer fee £440.000 for Kenny.....both clubs and supporters were happy with the deal...nobody was f****d over

Exactly this. Even Coutinho signed a new contract with us just 12 months before he went to Barcelona and the money from that transfer is one of the main reasons why we are where we are today. Trent doesn't care about any of that, he cares only about himself. I agree that booing him was wrong, but I undrstand why some felt it was necessary to do it.

Kenny was a transfer and gave Celtic a significant amount

How much are Madrid giving us

I completely agree that he is screwing the club but booing in the middle of a match is not what we should be doing if we want the best from the team, it can only have a negative effect. Boo him on the parade by all means just not while he is playing, that was my point.

I did notice that Slot had him warm up in the first half, not sure if there was booing then and why Slot thought it may be ok. My guess is he won’t play at home again if ever.

Trent shouldn't play for this club again and he shouldn't take part in the parade either, last thing we need is someone who wont even be here next season turning our title celebrations into a circus. It was his decision to leave us, not the other way around.

He has earned his place in the parade , he has earned the right to be there

Some need to grow up

It’s a job for the players as well

He gave the club the best part of his career and has helped the club win multiple trophies including this years title

It’s disappointing that he wants to leave but that’s his choice

Booing when someone is wearing the shirt is poor

We are supposed to be above that ***** behaviour

Leave that to the bitters

He will at the parade

And if anyone is going there to boo him stay at home and let everyone else celebrate

He didn't "give" us anything, the club heavily invested in him and if anyone has "given" anything to anyone in this case it's the club to him and not the other way around. He has only Liverpool to thank for being where he is today, for making him into the player he is, and paying him well for it too. And him leaving for nothing is the thanks he has to give to the club for all we've done for him.
