Who knows why they bid what they did and there intentions behind it. Total mess from the club anyway no matter how you look at it.

We need quality players not numbers. Would Caiceido bring more that Dewsbury Hall? Effing right he would.

BBC reporting Chelsea have agreed a £115m fee for Caicedo. Can cross that one off now. Lets see what happens with Lavia.

Apparently we are going to match Chelsea offer for Lavia of 55M, couldn't we had got the deal done at 50M!

If we end up with Lavia and Chelsea with ceicedo, funny how both clubs squeezed extra mil off us, fair play to them.

Yup it's been more or less done when he rejected us.

Just hope we get Lavia now.

I hope Lavia joins Chelsea as a example of how cheap and pathetic we've been once again
In this transfer market. The ground we've lost the last 2 years being cheap is embarrassing.

Well 2 and a half weeks left of the window so lets see what happens. Still not sure how Chelsea would be able to sign Caicedo and Lavia without falling foul of FFP. I'm not even sure Lavia is real target for them. From the outside, appears Southampton are working with them to push the price up and get the they want.

Been a strange window and almost wondering if losing Michael Edwards and then Julian Ward has been a bigger issue than first thought. To be honest, I'm getting oaf vibes from this Jorg Schmadtke chap and feels like Klopp has just given his mate a job. I asked a German colleague of mine who follows the Bundesliga and asked if he knew anything about Schmadtke and worryingly he referenced the simpsons episode where Mr Burns's son comes and works for him.

Was/is there anyone who didn't think this?

Anyway, going to reserve judgement at the end of the window. Fairly confident Lavia signs for us once all these fun and game over.

Yep. I'm all for giving Klopp more control as he has earnt it but doesn't mean he gets a pass on every decision he makes.

Let's see how much we've ***** Lavia off by going for Caicedo. Chelsea are not in Europe and have bought two £100m CMs and we have a gaping Lavia sized hole in our midfield so purely from a game time perspective it's a no brainer. Klopp might need to give him a call and put the delay and Caicedo move at the feet of the suits at the club.

Liverpool have agreed a £60m deal to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton. They must still convince the midfielder to choose them over Chelsea.

Shame how we have to more or less start all over again. It is like Klopp second coming and we are beginning a new phase. We were ontop of the world and didn't address our issues. We are far off from City and have been overtaken by few others.

We presumably were going to spend 111M so why not get Lavia, that's if we do, and another CB.

I don't want to see the new lads playing out of position.

If we don't buy anyone else then lads prepare for another yoyo season.

My only concern with Lavia is that we are putting our trust on a inexperienced 19 year old to stabilise the middle.

However, we are better with him then without I guess.

Just change his name from Jorg to Patsy lads!!

Can't be blaming the clubs problems over the last few years on a fella we gave a 3 month contract to. We are where we are because of decisions we made then. By all reports he wasn't involved in the caiceido transfer anyway as that was down to Hogan.

We are now the true underdogs, they have even branded it  LFC 2.0 or Liverpool Reloaded. The blame lies with the people who run the club imo.

We desperately need a ball winner in midfield and Lavia was one of the best at doing that in the league last season. Caicedo has a better all round game, and is more versatile.. and as much as its not a exciting signing on paper I think Lavia will suit us more than Caicedo right now.

Alot of rumours floating around that Lavia prefers a move to Chelsea..  if that's the case, then they're obviously throwing big wages at him, and probably a massive signing on bonus aswell. We should have got this deal sewn up 3 weeks ago.

We hung Lavia out to dry imo,  He has agreed terms with us believing we wanted him but we keep telling everyone that we don't think he's worth that. We made 3 bids all below the known asking price and then walked away a few mil short. We then tried to pay over the odds for Caiceido so what must the lad be thinking   if we don't think he was worth the asking price then what do you think we are paying him so imo wouldn't be hard to tempt the lad elsewhere.
