Don't know much about him, just know his play midfield.

Is he a potential starter or prospect?

The lad has no ceiling on his potential mate ,phenomenal young talent. Paul Joyce stating its a done deal for 3.5 million with just a medical to rubber stamp ,Liverpool will allow him to finish season at Fulham

£3.5m is buttons these days to a premier league club, if this lad turns out to be a regular starter for us somewhere down the line it will be a fantastic bit of business.

Not sure where that has come from. It's been consistently reported that we've offered £5mil plus Fulham get to have him on loan for the rest of the season but they are playing hardball.

Apparently the kid wants to "keep his options open" and wait until the summer. Fulham are getting a fee anyway (tribunal or otherwise) so they're in no rush to sell either.

Heard he's agreed terms on a 5 year deal.. but Fulham are really digging their heels in.

They don't want another Elliott saga.. they are demanding £10m.

Fabio Carvalho 'might still' join Liverpool after deadline day transfer collapsed late on

LIVERPOOL are not giving up hope of signing Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho.

By CHARLIE MALAM
05:01, Tue, Feb 1, 2022

Liverpool "might still" sign Fabio Carvalho reckons Clinton Morrison despite the Reds failing to complete a deal before the January window's 11pm deadline on Monday night. The Merseyside outfit had struck up an agreement with Championship leaders Fulham to sign the player in a deal that would have taken him back to Craven Cottage on loan for the rest of the season but it fell through late on.

Liverpool were set to pay around £8million for Carvalho despite the 19-year-old attacker's contract expiring in July

The England youth international has been one of the Championship's most impressive young talents this term and has produced seven goals and four assists in 18 league appearances.

As such, Marco Silva was desperate to keep him on loan until the season ends and Liverpool agreed to that stipulation in order to avoid battling multiple clubs from across Europe for his signature in the summer.

But they were not able to get all the paperwork completed before the 11pm deadline, with deal sheets not allowed to be submitted for EFL transfers like they are in the Premier League.

Yet Sky Sports pundit Morrison, who played for Fulham's London rivals Crystal Palace as well as Birmingham, believes Jurgen Klopp and co could still sign the player.

Liverpool are believed to be hoping to agree a fee of compensation with Fulham in order to still snare Carvalho's signature and to avoid going through a tribunal process.

They are frontrunners to secure a pre-contract agreement although players whose deals are running out at one English club can only talk to another when they are into the final month of their contract.

If Liverpool cannot agree a fee with Fulham though, they will have to go to a tribunal to decide an amount of compensation for his development, as they did with Harvey Elliott. Clubs from abroad however need only pay a nominal fee.

Morrison told Sky Sports News: "He's one of the best youngsters in the Championship. Not many players excite me but he excites me. He's so smooth with that football.

"I thought it would've been an outstanding signing For Liverpool. Listen I think it might still happen in the summer. I hope it does.

"I hope he does go to Liverpool because that young man deserves to go and work under someone like Jurgen Klopp. Marco Silva's doing a good job with him at Fulham but going to a club like Liverpool as a youngster, that's what you dream of.

"Carvalho obviously thought he was going to Liverpool but it's not going to happen. But he's got to get his had down and keep producing form he's producing at Fulham.

"Everybody's talking about him. He's an exciting young talent and hopefully in the summer it does happen. I'm gutted for him because the youngster's got some serious ability."

It remains to be seen if Liverpool can now agree a deal to sign Carvalho in the summer and how close it will be to the £8m fee that was settled on with Fulham for a January agreement.

Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater explained of the collapsed deal: "Unfortunately, Liverpool and Fulham have run out of time to get the Fabio Carvalho deal done.

"It was a complicated deal as Liverpool were buying the player and he was then going to be loaned back for the remainder of the season.

"That added complication and that the deal sheets were not sent to the EFL in time.

"The loan aspect in this was non-negotiable so in the end Carvalho has not been able to make his transfer to Liverpool. It might linger on until the summer.

"Liverpool wanted to get it done before the summer so they don't have to go to a transfer tribunal but it's also a headache for Fulham as Carvalho is out of contract at the end of the season.

"Potentially he could go to the continent and Fulham would then only receive a token fee for him."

Honestly, we got only oursevles to blame. Why did we sit on our ***** for the whole month if we were sure we wanted this boy? We'll probably get him in the summer but we may have complicated things for oursleves and might face more competiton for his signature.

Yeah it does seem sloppy to have a deal done in principle but run out of time in terms of sorting out the details when the window is open for a whole month.

Reading from various sources that we agreed a deal to sign Fabio Carvalho for 8million.
