Liverpool Football Club - Games

Google Camp Nou and it gives you 123 million links in 0.52 seconds.  Google Liverpool and get about 525,000,000 results (0.82 seconds). Advantage Reds.

Image

They have this stadium that seats 99.354 but can't afford to finish the roof, not like at Anfield.
They charge 115 euros to see the game, Anfield is 35 euros cheaper.

They stole Suarez and Coutinho off us, but we grew 2 more, Mane and Mo (M&M's). Seems Barca are getting desparate like Real Madrid and Man Ure.
Their squad size is: 23, their average age: 27,5, 18 foreigners (78,3 %) with only 18 current internationals

To get to the semis,

Barcelona: Liverpool:
Won           7         6
Drew          3         1
Lost           0         3
Goals for  23       18
Goals agin  6         9

They have 10 players of 27 or older
Thomas Vermaelen ; Centre-Back 33
Kevin-Prince Boateng; Centre-Forward 32
Gerard Piqué Centre-Back 32
Luis Suárez Centre-Forward 32
Lionel Messi Right Winger 31
Ivan Rakitic  Central Midfield 31
Arturo Vidal  Central Midfield 31
Sergio Busquets Defensive Midfield 30
Jordi Alba Left-Back 30
Jasper Cillessen Goalkeepe 30
Sergi Roberto Right-Back 27

We have 12 over 27 however only 7 at 28 or over compared to Barca 9. We win.
James Milner Central Midfield (33)
Simon Mignolet (31)
Adam Lallana Attacking Midfield (30)
Dejan Lovren Centre-Back (29)
Daniel Sturridge  Centre-Forward (29)
Jordan Henderson  Central Midfield (28)
Georginio Wijnaldum Central Midfield (28)
Virgil van Dijk Centre-Back (27)
Joel Matip Centre-Back (27)
Roberto Firmino  Centre-Forward (27)
Xherdan Shaqiri Right Winger (27)
Sadio Mané Left Winger  (27)

Out of 36 league games this season, Liverpool's player with the highest number of passes if VVD at 2,663, fewest number Mane at 5. Greedy b'stard.
After VVD, second highest passer is Robbo a full 500 passes behind!

Liverpool's highest scorer in the EPL is Robbie 'God' Fowler with 128. Suarez during his time at LFC 'only' netted 69 times. Pah.

Key factors influencing the game:
In all likelihood, Liverpool will put out an attacking formation because thats all we know.
Will Barca's aging defense be able to handle the speed of our game.
Will they try to take out Mo or Mane as Sergio Ramos did last year?
Will our flying wingbacks be caught out of position and punished by Messi, Suarez and Couts?
Will our constant competing for the ball, to recovcer the ball and attacking simply wear them down?
Do we have to win in Braca or will Klopp go for the draw and gamble on Anfield 'Bringing the noise...'

We've played them before and beat them before"

It's all to play for lads, Barca should be worried, very worried.  :rasp

Messi vs Van Dijk, let's finally see who's the best player at the moment.

Kinda glad to switch to a competition where we can control what happens. Like someone said in a different thread, I'm getting tired of waiting for City to drop points.

IMO, us and Barca are the two best clubs left in this competition, and I'm glad we're facing them in a two-legged tie rather than the final. Whoever goes through will lift the title IMO.

The first leg at the Nou Camp will be difficult, so I'd take a 1-1 or a 2-2 draw. Most important thing would be to not lose there.

This is what I'd go for:

Alisson

TAA
Matip
VVD
Robertson

Fabinho
Hendo
Gini

Salah
Mane
Firmino

We must try to get an away goal and limit them lot. Can't wait for this one really looking forward to it. Away from the Epl and time to enjoy the European nights.

It will be interesting to see how Big Virg does with their attackers especially the Argentinian Wizard.

I wonder how Cuntinho will perform.

Common Redmen please do this.

Agree with Damnjan line up that is the best one we should go for.

I feel if we get a positive result tomorrow we should then seal it at home.

Clubs struggle at Anfield in Euro nights.

You’ve definitely been waiting for this one Reg !! Great opening to the thread

This won’t be easy but I’m feeling good about the game. We usually turn up on the big occasions and there’s not much bigger than this. Barca have won the league and life is good for them. Let’s make sure it doesn’t get any better !! We’ve got quality all over the pitch - WE CAN DO THIS - COME IN NUMBER 6 !!!

I fear abit for our full/ wing backs, more so for TAA. Suarez will run at him relentlessly and if he's not careful, he'll be torn to shreds. Klopp's gotta ask one of our midfielders to help him out. On the other side is Andy vs Messi. Andy is alot more solid than TAA and with comparative age difference between him and Messi, he might just be able to contain Messi.

The other danger is Cout's long range shot which we know all too well. Our midfielders gotta be on their toes to close him down.

It seems obvious but contain these 3 and Barca will be alot mire toothless...

I agree our starting Xi is pretty set, I have a feeling though the who, when and role of the substitutes could. greatly influence the outcome of the tie. I’m not sure the Spanish league has such high expectations of their subs as impact players?

Hey Mags, hows life mate? If you look at the age of their stating XI they’re an old team, Suarez is 32, Messi 31, their centre backs 31 etc.. so these guys will have limited stamina. Let’s hope.

If Fab plays permanently deep like a third CB it might allow Matip to drift more over to the right side to cover TAA?

Even though we are away from home as a unit I'd like to see us push right up the pitch, for one I don't think their defence handles being pressed that well (they have deffo got a mistake in them) and apart from Dembele (who doesn't always play) their forward line is pretty slow.
Luis legs have gone, Phil has never been quick and although Messi is still quick over 5 yards he wouldn't outsprint the likes of Virgil, Robbo or Trent over 10-20 yards.
Be brave, push right up and let's embaress them on their own patch.

Barca were highly effective versus Manure so as long as we avoid a heavy defeat, and nick an away goal or two, we should be OK.

Our defence should have their hands full in this one.

Prediction :2-2.

Hate to say it but I think this is the only competition that we've got a realistic chance of winning now.

As yewygweyucbweucydweiuhdcpiuew said above, let's smash 'em on their own patch - we're capable.

With Firmino a doubt some pundits are suggesting Jurgen may opt for just Mane and Salah up front and stick an extra body in midfield.
If Bobby isn't fully fit it might not be a bad idea.
