Spanish lads - A word in the ear required.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Leonmc0708 » Sat Nov 13, 2004 7:05 pm

I was disguisted to see Alonso and Josemi throw their black armbands to the floor during the game today.

A word in their ear was required today, they where a sign of respect for a great servant to this club.

I understand the fact that they are foreign, but I think someone should have give them a right rollocking for that show of ignorance.

I would hope to see some kind of apology or statement to address the situation.

There is no excuse whatsoever for me, they work for Liverpool FC now, we pay their wages and they should honour our traditions.

..why are u making a mountain.. do u not think there must be an explanantion... i'm not happy it happened..  "disgust" is a strong word... Emlyn was a grt servant to the club.. his smile contageous.. and I am truly baffled they did that ... but it is evident that of they did it must be a lack of appreciation of the situation.. are blak arms bands a universal mark of respect.. ?

.. and don't call me luv .. thank you

Disappointed to hear that, I agree with you Leon there should be an apology, I am sure it is universally recognised that black armbands are a mark of respect and Emlyn deserves as much respect as any Liverpool player past or present.

Not going to get on the Spanish players backs about it, but as you say I think a stern word in their direction and an apology is necessary.

Last time we had problems with the armbands aswell.  If I remmember correctly it was JC laast time an he said that it just kept falling off.  An if this was the case you would off thought the club would off got new black arm bands to stop it from happening again.  I seen Alonso throw his into the dugout in the first half, but at the time I thought he allmost certainly copme out in the second half with a new band.  Did anyone notice if he had one on in the second half?
