Noticed Liverpool players were wearing the armband with velcro (which might slip off with lots of movements) while Palace's armband were elastic. If I recalled correctly, Benitez did not wear one while Dowie had his on the entire game.

Well done Santa for spotting the different armands as you watched the game on the radio.  :D

Must admit - didn't see this happen
Very disappointed - but agree with some of the others - lets see if the club pick up on it & give some feedback

otherwise they are just as bad - for not educating the boys
not trying to trivialise it - but don't want to start suggsting disloyalty either
I'm sure someone will have a word in their shell like !!!

Yeah, the sound of velcro tearing apart is too obvious for me to miss  :D

Eh Santa's theory is correct. I watched the game over and before the game started it was shown that Alonso had trouble putting the armband on as it kept falling off so Milan Baros did it for him.

the last thing i want to do is belittle the respect due to emlyn. he was, of course, huge for the club and will be missed. the spanish lads - like all the players - observed the minutes silence impeccably and will be fully aware of the importance of the gesture and the man. (black arm bands are a universal tribute).

but after that, lets face it, they are there to play and win a game of football. if the armband is annoyiing or distracting i too would remove it. i'm sure that emlyn would accept a win as a better tribute than a black armband.

The most fitting tribute to Emlyn and the only thing HE would really care about was Milans hatrick n the following 3points :)

I did not want to start another topic(especially about shreck) but I was disgusted to see Rooney throw his arm band on the ground when he got substituted. He has no excuse because he is honoring not just a former Red, but an England Captain. Rooney is disgracefull, and it does not surprise me he plays in Manure.
