I hope that the Reds can bounce back by annihilating Palace on the ground that is Anfield. I am still in shock as Birmingham beat us in a game that we clearly dominated from the start. We created more chances and we played better and we lost. One lousy mistake cost us 3 points which we should had gotten.
Sami Hyypia still concerns me. Had he been a bit faster he could had cleared the ball off the line before the ball went into the back of the net. His mistake against Blackburn also had costed us.
Jamie Carragher,Djimi Traore,J.A.R.,Milan Baros and Igor Biscan are just some of the players who have improved under Benitez. We continue to improve in every game but we must score when we have the chance otherwise we will have the type of matches like we did against Birmingham. I believe in the meantime whoever partners Baros can get the job done as far as goal scoring is concerned.
We have two players who are going to return within a week or so. Steven Gerrard has shown his passion for this club as he has recovered faster than expected. Antonio Nunez has been praised by Benitez so hopefuly Nunez will be as good as Benitez says he is.
Crystal Palace have improved in the past few games. Their confidence has been raised especilly after getting a point from Arsenal. They will be looking to creat a shock at Anfield but I expect the Mighty Reds to show their class and pulverize the Eagles.
After Palace we will have hectic fixtures. Middlesbrough away, Arsenal home, Aston Villa away,etc.... We did not get 3 points from Blackburn or Birmingham which we should had as they were easy fixtures but nothing is for certain in the Premiership.
Benitez has made in impact within a couple of months and did something that Houllier was never able to do, which is getting the best out of the players he has bought. I.E.: Igor Biscan and Djimi Traore. Compare their performances under Houllier and now. Huge difference and all due to the fact that we have a manager who is 10 times better than Houllier imo.
Slowly Benitez is waking up the Sleeping Giant that we are. We can only hope that the Giant will be able to wake up from a deep slumber by the end of the season which will gives a chance to challenge the Premiership next year.
