a woeful n disgraceful performance.but i agree though,if we win against Chelsea,i won't be blaming Rafa for his weird formation today.

but i thought,he mentioned getting the 4th spot is more important than CL ?

can't blame the players....

Traore at left wing ?

La Tellac at right wing ?

Whats pelle & hyppia doing in the same team ?

Rafa got it wrong.......massively.

Alonso off the team sheet. Forget Gerrard, Alonso is the future, and seeing his name off the team sheet made Dowie's eyes gleem.

Man, how humiliated with this defeat!! We lost to Crystal Palace for Christ Sake!!! No body wanted the ball and it seemed they thought they were done when the ball was passed on to somebody else. No movement and very poor passing. The youngster did absolutely dreadful and I don't blame them as it is a learning process but why play so many of them at the same time. I'm really Pi$$ off now as I couldn't express my anger to the full extent.....

Well, it is sort of true...the fcuking crystal palace players were all over baros whenever he got the ball. But couldn't use that as an excuse...

RAFA - FOOTBALL WASN'T POSSIBLE

Angry Liverpool Manager Rafa Benitez has hit out at Crystal Palace's physical style after his side suffered a deeply disappointing defeat at Selhurst Park today.
Andy Johnson's 33rd minute strike was enough to give Iain Dowie's strugglers the points, but Benitez felt that Palace's tactics made it impossible for his side to play football.

He said, "I am very disappointed with the result, but we tried to play and sometimes this isn't possible.

"We knew they would be very physical, but ask Milan Baros about how physical they were. He has problems all over his body. Watch the TV and you will see what I mean."

Baros was forced off injured after 37 minutes after a series of heavy tackles and is rated as a serious doubt for Wednesday's vital Champions League clash with Chelsea.

This defeat now leaves Liverpool with an almost impossible task of making 4th place this season, but Benitez says they won't give up without a fight.

"I thought we controlled the first half", he said. "But conceding the goal when we did made the difference.

"Now we have three games left in the league and two in the Champions League and we must focus for these games. We will probably have to win our last three games though to have a chance of finishing 4th."

Liverpool's task wasn't helped today by injuries that kept Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia out, but they should both be fit for Chelsea.

Who are our 3 most efficient players in recent matches...? For me it's Alonso, Garcia and Riise. None of them in the starting XI. Fielding ALT, Pallegrino, Welsh, Troare & Potter just goes to show where our priorities lies...whatever Rafa's trying to tell the press.

Bottom line is we just haven't got a big (and strong) enough squad of players who can come in and do a solid job when we need to rest and protect the key players ahead of important matches. A busy summer is paramount now!!!!!!!!!!!

We lost possession quite a lot, most of the players did nothing esp. in the midfield with the exception of gerrard going up and created a few chances..we have biscan on the bench, why didnt use him instead of welsh or potter? we played like we already won the game..we're too slow, lack of ideas, lack aggresiveness...etc.  :(   Extremely dissapointing...

Anyway, hope we can play good attacking football against chelski.
