Not surprised that it is more hefty than the previous time. I question whether FIFA had any alternative given the world stage that it happened on and the previous records. Although they took a couple of days to decide, the whole thing feels a little knee jerk. Clearly they wanted to address his participation in the rest of the tournament, but that could have been achieved by banning him from taking any further part and deferring any decisions till everything else has died down...it would have been a lot more sensible. This feels all a bit showboaty for me and I wonder how legally sound it is for them to punish Liverpool in the way that they have as has been mentioned before. I suspect this might be a big front page story today with the equivalent of a page 12 apology later on when noone is looking. Can't imagine that the financial impact alone that the decision brings to Liverpool is something that will go on unchallenged. Question is how long will that process take,

Regarding the statements about the breadth of the ban and what it means....I think they're pointing to all the sponsor deals and all that sort of stuff that he has. The fine is a nominal amount that doesn't hurt him, but I think they are trying to hit him hard there too.

Doe's "any football activity" includes transfers?
If so, he may not be dealt till the Jan 2015 transfer window...
In any case, seems his value droped much by this stupid bite.
What a stupid stupid jerk...

Well as the decision was made by a organisation that gave Qatar the world cup what can you expect

That being said I think club would put itself in a world of hurt if they try to appeal the decision

Given our tough start to the season fixture wise our season could be over before he even gets back. They should have just hit him with a long international ban, why are we carrying the can?
Was he banned from playing for Uruguay after he bit Ivanovic or after the Evra incident?

gets a pay rise to 200,000 quid a week and the tiny responsibility to keep his nose and teeth out of trouble that will affect the club. and he's incapable of doing it. he's a stupid w**ker.

this is exactly what I was saying i was afraid of happening. he can't stop himself from being a dickhead and that means we're stuck without our most influential player for loads of important games with no financial remuneration to be able to do anything about it.

I'm fecking fuming.

Dan Roan (BBC) is suggesting that the "all football" piece of the ban includes training with the club. I find that hard to believe but if so, I can see club raising a serious objection to that.

It would be impossible for his to be considered for selection even directly after the ban ends.

Honestly, I can't say that I'm surprised by the decision.

This is the THIRD time his done this Sh*t.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the guy's a great striker, but he's a thick as shit.

The season could be over before he gets Liverpool shirt on. I'm beyond furious at this, furious at Suarez.  :veryangry

Seriously though, he can't be the full shilling.

Shame we don't have a like function on this forum as some of the posts recently have been begging for a like....on the money and funny as well.

Let's just wait and see how it all pans out....could be to our advantage....perhaps we have no alternative but to find extra money for the star players we're looking for..should be an interesting run up to the season

Absolute bull Sh*t they've banned him from Liverpool's matches. We shouldn't have to pay for what he did with Uruguay. We have a hard schedule at the front end and now we will be missing our best player for it, and will be struggling in the CL too.

The reason I made reference to your obvious influence is because it is them that drag Liverpools  name through the mud at every turn regardless of the club involvement or not. Do you actually think to yourself when a player from another club does something stupid like assault someone that "drags the clubs name through the mud"?? ???

Most genuine Liverpool fans (regular posters, match goers, locals and real supporters, and even people who regularly discus the club) a. You can see are pretty much all of the same opinion and aren't really that bothered... We are more bothered about what the fa or FIFA will do affecting us, not what some bellend who writes a newspaper thinks. I find it laughable that soon as one of ours makes an error in judgement, be it the first time or not that all of a sudden people who never discus our club flock to forums to vent their discust. So much so I smell a rat. Ive been on here ten years and this is the only topic ive ever noticed you post in.... Says a lot:

Most genuine fans? Match goers, real supporters?

I have had a season ticket for 30 years, Kemlyn > Lower Centenary > Block 102 KOP. Followed home & away for 10 years also.
The Kemlyn was replaced by the Centenary Stand by the way, row 26 seat 61 - maybe I was sat near you then?

Only topic I have ever posted in? Not a regular poster, yes but check number of posts. Quite a lot more than your age which judging by your comments is about 12!

Keep smelling those rats boy.
Back on topic, banned again for early season games. Feel sorry for our badly let down manager, Luis is an idiot.

What a mess, the lad has a screw loose. Thing is (and this is what scares me) what happens if he does it again? A 12 month ban? 2 years?

He's a loose cannon and for all of his underlying ability, can't be trusted to behave himself. For that reason alone I'd listen to offers of 80mill. Because i can just see this happening again and him getting a huge ban. That has the potential to destroy our season.
