We need a top class player in there as I doubt our defence can take another campaign with Lucas protecting.

I think this Emre Can that we are looking at is a DM mate, not exactly a stellar name like

That Emre Can looks alright to be fair if they can get it done.

Suspect it wont be easy prizing a top young German player out of the Bundesliga, and he is
connected to Bayern Munich, like they all are.

I'm not that convinced he'll come here and nail down a position in the starting XI, what is he 20 or something like that? he's got squad player written all over him to me. I think Rodgers is happy with Gerrard patrolling in front of the back 4 so I can't see us signing a DM of note.

Sky sports news and the BBC are reporting that we've made a final 'take it or leave it' offer of £25m for Lallana.
That's a lot of dough.

Ben Smith is also saying that LFC are optimistic in signing Emre Can, Moreno & Lovren as well

Is this Lovren any good? I get the other two lads from Southampton but 3?

Surely we wont take 3 from them in a world market, seems ridiculous.

2 is bad enough  :D

I don't think we'll get all three of them. I don't want Lovren honestly, we could do better. As for Lallana, 25m is a lot I guess but I'd have him.

On Emre Can, for the money being reported I'd have him as well. Don't think he'll be a squad player, he'll probably be a part of a 3 man midfield along with Gerrard and Henderson. From the little I've seen from him, he's a Henderson type of player, athletic, runs a lot and all that. Could be exactly what we need.

On a side note Kolo Toure has malaria

You could be right about Lovren since Chicriches wants to leave.

I'm pleased with the Lambert signing if it's true. He's great at penalties and free-kicks. Hopefully Adam Lallana and Pedro joins us too. I'm surprised we're not linked to Ricardo Rodriguez. He's a very good leftback and might be cheaper than Moreno.

We still need a DM though, as Lucas isn't good enough though he'll most likely stay. Alex Song's name has been flying around.

I agree with Yakka about Pedro. OK player but I never really liked him to be honest.

Rickie Lambert arriving for his medical, Lambert is due at Melwood at 11:30 to complete the deal after passing his medical. Will then join back up with England to fly to Miami.

25 mill for Lallana is steep. Good player but he'll have to play at a high level consistently to justify the price tag. On Pedro, I think hes a much more established player and a safer bet, so to speak. Technically better than Lallana, scores more, and has experience in Europe and at the very top level. He's also a big game player. If we had the chance to pick between any of Pedro, A.Sanchez and Lallana for the 25-30mill figure quoted, lets just say Lallana would be at the bottom of that list for me.

I have to say that I find it interesting that were about to spend around 30mill on 2 attacking players given the performances of the likes of Sterling and Sturridge last season. Coutinho is the most likely to make way for Lallana in the starting 11 but for 25mill I dont see it as that big a step up or a game changer. I really hope Rodgers is keeping in mind the defensive reinforcements needed to really take the side to the next level. Would have been happier with the 30mill being spent on a defender and central midfielder to be honest.

I like Lovren, still remember he did really well against us at Anfield last season. Plus he has good champions league experience with Lyon.

From one of the saints forums:

Liverpool have bullied us once over RL. Was very disappointed we didn't hold out until after the WC. It simply must not happen again.

There is absolutely no way Saints should be doing a deal for Adam now. We are told we don't need to sell, so don't! In any case the valuation is too low and, with a good showing in Brazil he could be worth double in a month's time - which is why Liverpool are trying to shaft us now.

If it really is a final bid, and I'm sure it isn't, walk away.

If the board capitulate on this, I will be very disillusioned and very worried.

double in a months time?

Ben Smith is saying there's a stalemate in Lallana's proposed move to LFC. Player wants future sorted before WC. Saints want to wait.
