The owners, BR and Ayres know that is the case. If ever there was a time to invest heavily in our future success it is this coming January.

i hope so. we need to not look too far in to the future though as i doubt it will be a future with luis in it then.  for me we already have enough for the future in sterling, hendo, coutinho, sturridge, texiera and others in the academy worth the investment. thats as far in to the future as id be looking.
we need to spend on at least 2 quality players in january that are instant starters. we need to secure CL this season and also keep in mind that we will need better players to play in it.
the club and team is on the up and so many players out there now would to love to sign for us, come the summer and the exposure we will from suarez if he rips it up in the WC will ensure that liverpool is on every one's mind and have top players knocking on the door.  :nod

Totally agree. We have a great opportunity to make a statement of serious intent this season and who knows with a couple of new quality players to support our questionable midfield who knows where that could take us. Top 4 as a minimum and possibly more. The next two games are going to tell us a lot. I like Lucas but he can be improved on. Same apple to Johnson and Allen. ONE THING FOR CERTAIN IS THAT HENDO MUST CONTINUE TO PLAY IN THE CENTRE. As I'm writing Shelvey has been name as the best player in the first half of the Swansea v Everton game - FKG TYPICAL !! Played very well against us swell except for a couple of costly mistakes.

Was nice to see how he gave the goal to young Sterling and how he immediately gave the captain's armband to Agger when he came on. Definitely makes you think that maybe he really wants to stay here for the long term.

Anyway, considering his contract, apparently his release clause is 100 million as I said. Also, the club isn't obligated to listen to offers from other English clubs which means that if he wants to leave than it must be to some foreign club.

Scored more goals in the last 12 games than 5 of the last 20 golden boot winners scored in a whole season.

The MOTD december goal of the month:
1. Suarez. 2. Suarez. 3. Suarez. 4. Suarez. 5. Suarez. 6. Suarez. 7. Suarez. 8. Suarez. 9. Suarez. 10. Suarez.  :D

Where did you hear the buy out clause was a £100m mate? I read something about a £70m buy at clause but it was just some jour no speculating.

Behave st michael, he's not that good.

I think when assigning praise to our own players you have to be realistic.

However it wouldn't suprise me if it was,

1. Suarez. 2. Suarez. 3. Suarez. 4. Suarez. 5. Suarez. 6. Suarez. 7. Suarez. 8.AGUERO . 9. Suarez. 10. Suarez.

today some papers are saying that if madrid or barca come in for him then we have to talk to them, no mention of buy out clauses or fee`s though so maybe it`s a question of us negotiating as much as we can out of them.
apparently though the same papers are reporting that `sources close to suarez` state that if we qualify for the CL then he will have a tough decision to make (because he is genuinely happy here) and they elaborate by saying that if we win the league `luis would find it almost impossible to leave`.
food for thought.

If thats the case then for me we need to spend £50,000,000 in janurary and bring in two class players who will walk into the first eleven and make us better.

I personally don't believe we've ever played in a league where the good teams are as weak as this year and I'd rather us spend next seasons budget now on a midfielder or two or a centre back and give it a good go this season.

We're in a great position, even if we lost to City and Chelsea we'll still be in the mix so with two quality signings there is every chance we could push on.

Chelsea will spend in Januuary, I'd be suprised if Arsenal didn't so we need to make improvements.

With both Barca and Real being investigated by EU for alleged State subsidy, it wouldn't surprised me if they are forced to sell their best players to the Premier League instead of the other way round. That leave Bayern as the only serious candidate, and if the release clause is something like £70~£100M, then I can't see any of them come to get Luis, especially if we gets into CL and have some financial muscle to compete in the market.

No one though we could be anywhere near the top 4 by Christmas, so why the doubt whether we could be at the top come May?? It's about time for us to seriously dream big...  :bowdown

I seriously believe for Luis to be motivated to such crazy heights that we owe a lot of people a massive debt of gratitude and they are,a whiskey nosed kunt who has recently retired, a bitter little French twat, our wonderful gutter press/media, undoubtedly the pitiful FA and all the sad away supporter booing brigade !!  But let's not also forget some fantastic management by Liverpool FC and maybe just maybe most of all our incredible fans who stood by him during some tricky moments:

Thank you one and all for helping to turn a genius into a magician

Happy Christmas Luis - YNWA
