I wonder what would happen if you weren't such a miserable half glass empty sod who was critical of everything. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The significance is he started following them in the last few days. So given the speculation there could be a connection. Even more so since he started following the physio guy too.

I was having a laugh ffs !!!

It's the exact laugh others have had in regards the same rumour on twitter - it exploded on twitter about 3 days ago that Lucas was following Willian now then everyone was having a laugh after that.

No bids have been confirmed by anyone yet with the player not even talked to the club and because Lucas "follows" him on Twitter the rumours explode. That's nothing to with being miserable or glass half empty or any other ***** ! That's taking it as the value it deserves to be. Bloody hell Bav.

Of course not. Don't think there's even room for both. I'm hoping we'll go for Eriksen instead of Willian.

I have a feeling that we could be. Would be great if we do, in addition to a CB.

If we are looking at Eriksen then Coutinho pushes wide where as BR has said he sees Coutinho in the 10 role , hence why I would doubt these rumours about Eriksen

There were also reports about Eriksen saying he won't join a club not in the CL

I don't think Eriksen would mind joining us, but you're probably right about us not wanting him because we already have a number 10. A shame really, I've been hoping that we can get him for a while now.

It could possibly be rumours to kick the Willian deal into action

That's exactly it. Rodgers has already said that Coutinho will be playing in the middle once we get our squad settled. He got rid of Downing, and needs a wide player. Eriksen is not a wide player.

Sounds like somebody making stuff up to gain attention and followers on twitter.

Even then mate I can't see us buying those two - the Diamo link I have seen on twitter is more believable

there are no other reports apart from the one from this ajaxschare, if ericksen and de boer were really openly discussing him joining us the british media (especially the likes of tony barrett, the echo etc) would be all over it by now. nothing in it imo.

Well we have a winner for the most surprising signing of the summer

Pablo Osvaldo: Southampton sign Italy striker for club-record £15m

Southampton have signed Italy striker Pablo Osvaldo from Roma for a club-record fee of £15m.

Osvaldo, 27, has nine caps for the Azurri and has signed a four-year deal.

It is the second time in the transfer window that Southampton have broken their transfer record, having previously spent £12.5m on Celtic's Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The club wrote on Twitter:  "Osvaldo will be officially presented as a Saints player tomorrow."

That is a hell of a signing for them.

Osvaldo has in the last season or two got a decent scoring record but his bit of a nutjob. Good signing for Soton but no surprise the bigger teams have not gone for him. Think Pochettino may have worked with him at Espanyol so maybe what swung it for them
