I dont see why we would be a laughing stock? It would be his decision to move to a PL club, not ours. If the price is right let him go, but Im serious about throwing clumps of sh'it at him if he plays against us.
Its the least he deserves if he sh'its on us by doing that

It's funny because as fans and the club(s) itself we tend to treat players we don't like as commodities, yet when a top player does it to us we get on our collective high horses.

I think its a matter of honesty, respect and honour and at this moment Suarez is lacking in all of them. If he wants to stay, fair enough, apologise and lets move on.
If not, fu'ck off

Doesn't look particularly good does it. The talk about wanting out because of the press and his family always sounded iffy and it'll be interesting to see if his head is turned if a big offer comes in from City or the chavs(I can't imagine Arsenal coming up with a considerably improved bid). And as for Madrid, given that their season normally starts a couple of weeks after ours it wouldn't surprise me to see them leave it late IF they're interested (at 40-50 mill I don't even know that they will be?)

The problem we have is that Ian Ayre is hardly Daniel Levy. I could just imagine Levy in this situation letting it be none that THIS is the price and not a penny less, and if it doesn't get done by such an such a time it doesen't get done at all.

The lad is on a long contract. The club have some strength in this situation and should exercise it. I wouldn't even care if he was unhappy as I believe he would still work his socks off in every game as he always has.

However, I would be nice it the manager was in a position to sit him down and say "look who we just bought in to strengthen the squad" but as yet, we haven't really bought anyone of note have we  :(

After his agent's meeting with Ian Ayre and BR, it's clear that if an attractive offer comes then LS will go but if none, he will stay. I have this sneaky feeling RM will bid at the 11th hour and try to get him to do a Torres on us. They're are not going to break the bank to get him but hope to get him on the cheap. Hope we've learned our lesson from the Torres saga and know how to handle this. Since Liverpool has the upper hand, we should insist on at least 40M on him, otherwise no deal, period. If Suarez threatens to go on strike (which he had done before at Gronigen) or sulk trying to force us to sell him on the cheap, just let him do it. He would be stupid to do that because next season is World Cup year and he wouldn't want to be sitting on the bench or on strike without first team football, that would jeopardise his WC chances. Liverpool has to be strict and firm on only selling him for at least 40M.

40m is too low for him, ask for at least 50m.
suarez will be a hypocrite if he moves to chelsea while stating his reasons to leave LFC due to english fa and media.
torres had been unhappy at LFC for 18 mths but we as fans hadnt gotten the slightly idea untill he left for chelsea at the closing of the transfer window. well, torres didnt complain to the media and try to force the club. and i respect him for that over suarez.

If Suarez finally leaves for another Pl club, then Torres will be looking like an angel in comparison...

Marvellous what a great situation where I would prefer a late transfer window offer from Real Madrid over the stomach churning idea of him going to one of our league rivals.

Suarez saying in the paper today he has 2 or 3 options lined up. Plus:

In an interview on Tuesday with the Uruguayan radio station Sport 890, Suárez said: “There have been no offers yet, but Liverpool know exactly what is going on and what I want.

"My agent is in charge, he knows what I want, I am resting and relaxed. I am due back in about 10 days, on the 21st of July ... a phone call could change everything.”

The guy's a complete ***** and he can feck off.  Shows no respect.

His big mistake in all of this was talking about the media and all of that rubbish.
He should have just said ONCE that at 26 he wants to play in the Champions League and people would have more respect.
Then hand in a transfer request.

i am just very disappointed in suarez actions..
have the club or the fans been not supportive of him during his controversies days?
dont we deserve some loyalty?
players like gerrard, carra or alonso are hard to come by now.

i think i hv to agree that suarez is a good football but there is something very wrong with his character.

It makes me wonder whether the biting incidence was Suarez doing it intentionally as an exit strategy from LFC. It is absolutely unbelievable back then that he would do such a thing after the racism charge to put himself in the spotlight again. But maybe after all he may have ulterior motives...

This is shaping up to be the least classy exit from a club in history.

If the last interview is to be believed then he cannot stay at LFC.  Crass posturing, schoolboy sniggers, and amateur behaviour from him.

He needs to be moved on now, on our terms which for me would be

1.  Abroad, not an EPL team
2.  For no less than £45m
3.  Before the end of July.

If none of that happens on those terms then he is with us till January, and if called upon he is expected to play to his full potential, otherwise he doesn't play.

I'd also fine him four weeks wages for the ridiculous media circus he has created this summer.  He has dragged the club's name through the mud again.

im pretty sure he was sold the whole CL dream when he signed and told we will be back there in 2-3 years only for that time to pass and then realise that its as far away as it ever was.
go back in this thread to this point last season and everyone was saying we would struggle to hold on to him if we didnt get CL or at least come close to it. im not surprised at all that he wants to go but a bit pi$$ed in the way he is choosing to go about it.
make no mistake about it next season we will be back in this predicament with coutinho and sturridge.
