i seriously have my doubts as to whether he will link up with the squad or not. more than likely the club will give him extended leave till the end of the month.

The guy's a complete ***** and he can feck off.  Shows no respect.

im off the grid  :suspect:  even the manager cant get hold of me

He's spent the last 3 weeks gossiping with Cavani whilst in Brazil and thinks 'I'll have some of that'  - Just like Masher with Tevez.

Good riddance, the sooner he departs the better. Loose Cannon!

Just regret all the support we gave him.

Sadly, to obtain the maximum transfer value we will have to endure the embarrasment of his less than coherent press statements for another month at least.

Luis Suarez was surprised by Arsenal's £30million bid for him, but says he took it as vindication that opinion on his talent has not been lost.
Liverpool rejected the Gunners' offer last week but agent Pere Guardiola told managing director Ian Ayre and manager Brendan Rodgers at a meeting on Monday that his client wanted Champions League football.
Arsenal can offer that, though they would have to substantially increase their bid as Liverpool insist they do not want to sell Suarez.
The player's comments last month about disliking his treatment by the English media make a move to London improbable but the 26-year-old was heartened by the interest.
Since his arrival in England in January 2011 he has been banned for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, castigated for diving and is only four matches into a 10-game suspension for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in April.
"One has to value that despite everything that's happened one is still in the market... that clubs still value players for what they can do on the field," he said about Arsenal's bid.
"That makes me think that I can come back and do things well over there.
"They (the press) have given it to me in England but, like we say, I've given them stuff to eat because if I hadn't done anything then probably they wouldn't have been as bad.

"But football is like that and you have to be accustomed to all that and it's good that the English clubs still want me."
Real Madrid , whom Suarez expressed an interest in last month during a series of interviews which put his future at Anfield in serious doubt, remain favorites although they have yet to make any approach.
After Monday's talks it appears Guardiola will have to find clubs willing to bid over £40million and then take those offers to Liverpool.
But Suarez claims he has a number of avenues to explore.
"There are a few options and the club knows that. Are there any concrete options? No, so far there hasn't been any," he told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890.
"There are two or three clubs who I think are willing and the club knows that.
"My agent is in charge, he knows what I want.
"I have to present myself on July 21 to Liverpool for their tour of Australia but no one knows what could happen.
"I've already said what I have to say and initially I have to be there on the 21 but a maybe a phone call one day can change all your plans."
Speculation about his future has followed Suarez for several months and he admits it does entertain him.
Chelsea were also linked with a move while he said his wife told him Paris Saint-Germain wanted him after reading some of the gossip.
"It does amuse you because they (media) don't know anything," he added.
"I think it was my wife told me that I am going to speak French (at Paris Saint-Germain) with (compatriot) Edinson Cavani. She comes and tells me something different all the time
"Or when I'm having a chat with my brother in law and he says 'I saw Chelsea want Luis Suarez' and I say 'Ah yeah I see you're eating up what the press say.
"I say to him they know more than we do and it's funny.
"For now everything is going well I am very calm."

just wish he would get over it, hand in his transfer request and be done with it. guardiola will pussyfoot about till the last few days and we will end up taking less while suarez is playing hide and seek in south america.
i had heard it mentioned before that when a player hands in a transfer request he stops getting paid? anyone know if its true?

If he going to go I can't imagine it will be into August as we wouldn't want to have to try to replace him at the last minute as with the Torres situation. As much as I would like to see it in the short term I doubt that it will be a swap deal with Alonso returning.

Suarez saying he has '2 or 3 offers' is a complete bluff on the part of Suarez and his agent imo.

He has his heart set on Madrid but they haven't come in with anything concrete and he's desperate to get a move before he has to join us on pre-season tour, so they're probably trying to get Madrid to make a move.

As I predicted weeks ago Madrid will come in with a derisory offer of somewhere between 20 and 30 mil towards the end of the window.  What I'm not sure about is how we respond to that.  I just hope we play hardball with the slimy sh.its and if Suarez kicks off I'd let him rot in the reserves.  As proven with Tevez, players are only happy picking up wages and not playing for so long... eventually he'll dry his eyes and get on with it if we stick to our guns.

Strangely the Arsenal bid might make him slightly happier to stay with us - he thinks the English press and all English clubs have it in for them, Arsenal bidding kind of goes against that and might play into his ego a bit.

One thing's for sure, I won't be losing any sleep over this saga.  Suarez is only one player who will eventually leave sooner or later.  LFC will always be LFC

Suarez thought Madrid were interested. Turns out they are not, and now he wants to just get out of LFC hence the Arsenal flirting. Well fk him hiss ***** belongs to us so unless someone bids 40 mil he isn't going anywhere.

Four of Liverpool's summer signings were doing Melwood media duties for the first time on Wednesday. Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Kolo Touré and Simon Mignolet all spoke appreciatively of the warm reception they have received at the club and all four dutifully recorded their delight at joining a side so rich in tradition and history.

You know how these things go: they are hardly likely to complain about anything on their first day, are they? Just strike the right tone, say the expected things and get back to training. Everyone expected it but even so all four newcomers were asked how they felt about Luis Suárez, specifically whether the excitable Uruguayan should stay or go.

If you want to know how desperate things get in the dog days of the close season, there's your answer, right there.

Clearly Alberto, Aspas, Touré and Mignolet all said Suárez is a terrific player, because he is. They all said they would like him to stay too, because anyone would. But whether he will or not, who knows?

Certainly not a quartet of newcomers who have been at the club only five minutes and were being asked the question only because Brendan Rodgers is not making himself available. There is no need for the Liverpool manager to do so at this stage of the season, though apparently he will not be answering questions either at the end of the friendly against Preston North End on Saturday. Rodgers is aware that all the questions at any event this week will be heavily focused on Suárez and it would seem from his reticence that at the moment he does not have any ready answers.

What the Liverpool hierarchy are conspicuously not saying is what David Moyes said last week when asked about Wayne Rooney. The new Manchester United manager simply said Rooney would be staying at the club and would not be sold. He wanted to close the matter there, though without any comment from a supposedly disillusioned Rooney it was hard to see that as the end of the story: the ball had simply been lobbed back into the player's court.

With Suárez the ball has never left the player's court. Liverpool have stuck by him in the past, quite rashly at times, yet apart from scripted apologies and club statements Suárez has never publicly accepted that he owes the club any loyalty and would not be tempted by a better offer.

Quite the reverse, in fact. Speaking to a radio station in Uruguay he claimed two or three clubs wanted him and he welcomed Arsenal's interest – despite his previously stated desire to leave the Premier League due to unfair treatment by the English media – because it made him feel valued.

He seems to be suggesting his present club does not make him feel valued and after all that has happened, whatever the rights and wrongs of the Anfield stance when he was accused of being racially abusive, Liverpool hardly deserve that.

Perhaps Suárez knows what many already suspect, that Liverpool have decided to sell him and are simply awaiting the highest bid. That would be understandable, given the number of games Suárez misses through suspension and the amount of money that could potentially be placed on the table, though if the process is reliant on Real Madrid coming through with a big offer to blow any renewed interest from Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City out of the water, selling might not be a simple matter.

Suárez would prefer a move to Madrid but the Spanish club know that and are in a position to bide their time and wait until Liverpool become desperate to sell. Without any firm word from the Bernabéu the saga could easily spread out across the rest of the summer. Suárez is out of the country for another 11 days, though not short of news outlets through which to express himself in Uruguay, and is scheduled to join up with Liverpool in the middle of their pre-season tour.

After what he has been saying back home that does not seem the greatest idea and the notion of Suárez actually starting the season with Liverpool grows more unlikely by the day. He is now making little secret of his impatience with affairs as they stand, shrugging his shoulders and accepting that he must return to Liverpool but clearly hoping that the phone call that might change everything will come soon and save him the trouble.

In a possibly misguided attempt to have it both ways, Edinson Cavani recently spoke up on Suárez's behalf, claiming that his "love for Liverpool" is very real. "If they were playing in the Champions League, he would not consider leaving," the Napoli striker said. "But he knows he is now at the stage of his career when he needs to be playing at the top level."

Well said, Mr Cavani. Both realistic and revealing. Harsh yet still fair.

But by my reckoning Suárez still owes Liverpool something. A trouble-free season, perhaps, and with it a proper crack at bringing Champions League football back to Anfield.

I have defended Suarez to the hilt but let's face it if a tenth of what is coming out of the media is true then my question is: Does Suarez deserve our support now or in the future regardless of whether he stays or goes?

I haven't given up on him yet but I'm getting closer everyday.

His first full season with Liverpool wasn't great and he was as much a part of the problem as anybody else.He basically couldn't hit a horses ars.e with a banjo !! We have had one very good season out of Suarez. Will next season be just as good? There were signs on several occasions last season that his working relationship with Sturridge was brilliant. Luis has incredible skill but he is certainly a problem child. Would the sensible thing be to take the money and move on?

Has any top player ever caused the club as much embarrassment or anguish as Suarez? The Evra incident was blown up out of all proportion but the latest biting incident was the behaviour of a spoilt child.

For the record once again: Luis has serve a total of 12 games for being banned so far in his Liverpool career. We have WON 8 LOST 2 DRAWN 2. We can survive with Suarez. His lack of loyalty for the support that he has received from the club and the fans is almost unbelievable. I'm very close to thinking that he is more trouble than he is worth. We took a chance on a player with a poor reputation and it is coming back to haunt us.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 21/22 to 25/26  (10 years
are in brackets 16/17 to 25/26 )
LFC €490m (€650m)
Everton +€15m (€290m)
Arsenal €770m (€1107m)
Spurs €665m (€892m)
Chelsea €740m (€1045m)
Man City €460m (€1095m)
Man United €780m (€1340m)

have to agree...it does appear Luis  Suarez is digging a big hole for himself in the hope that someone will come to his rescue....if he doesn't achieve  his objective  then it may a major problem for us with a player who so desperately doesn't want to be at Liverpool

Take the money.

I've been having a think about it, he's a talent alright but he has issues. One of the issues that really annoys me is when Sturridge has the ball and takes a shot and lets say misses or has it saved, If Suarez is stood in space he throws his arms in the air and moans and whinges at Sturridge saying 'Why didn't you pass?' and really goes petulant when Sturridge is within his right to choose to pass or to shoot. I hate this. We had a similar player when I played sunday league. Our striker who had the shot and missed walked over to the other player who had just waved his arms around and called him a selfish d!ckhead and gripped him around the throat. It must really p!ss sturridge off no end. He must want to chin Suarez at times.

Another thing that grates me is the way he moans at the ref EVERYTIME a decision goes against him.

He's a moaner and he wants out. let him go but for no less than £40 million big ones!

His footballing skills would be an asset to any team in the world. But his intelligence with respect to his actions and statements to the press, particularly when he is back in Uruguay are somewhat lacking in any form of common sense.
I guess any prospective purchasing manager, believes that he is going to be the man to straighten him out!
Sadly they will not, it is clear that he lives on the impulse, both with his feet and between his ears. One will not change without the other! Sort his brain out (what little there is) and his outrageous skill on the park will also be tamed.
LFC should take the opportunity to sell now while he still has some admirers of his footballing skills, anything over £40m is a clear bonus. If we try to keep him his value will decline, would we win the league if we could persuade him to stay? Well I doubt that one. Would he make the difference in obtaining a top four slot? well probably not, It is the strength and hard work of the rest of the team that is going to pull that one off, his presence in a mediocre side failed to turn that trick last season.
He is already missing six games, with probably more to come as the FA's most marked man. The best approach is to sell now for the best possible price.

I personally think Coutinho is an all round better player for us than Suarez. We do not need Suarez. 40 M can strengthen the squad massively. I have faith in Coutinho and Sturridge along with Aspas or another forward coming in that Suarez will not be missed.
