Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

With Real Madrid appointing Ancelotti i think they will make a bid for Suarez soon. Ancelotti revealed his interest in Suarez when he was at PSG, no doubt he'll follow up that interest again with Madrid.

The good thing is with a £40M release clause we're guaranteed good cash for him, the question will be whether our valuation (£50M+) will be made up with money or a player. Alonso please.

It all sounds good in theory, but would any world class striker want to come to Liverpool that finished 7th last term, still in rebuilding process and no CL footie? I doubt it. We can only get youngsters who could be tomorrow's stars and the matured players we're getting ie Aspas and Toure are all 2nd rated players IMO.

We seem to be attracting some chirpy feckers of late ,so keep that beacon' burning bright, and as soon as we entice enough of
them we can lock them in and torch the place. :alien:

it's  a right bag of laughs innit?  we'll get some murmurs now with luis since Brazil have just dumped them out.  i reckon after the final he'll be coming home via Madrid probably.

The story all over the Telegraph this morning is painful......  embarrassing for the club, not denied by the player and the fans left out to hang. Disgrace.

Some might say the player has stated he has a contract however clearly that is insufficient under the circumstances.

Glad to know that BR and Liverpool are on top of this LS saga, all thanks to LS signing a long term contract with us last summer. We have the right to say he's not for sale and if you really want him that badly, start your bidding from 40M to all those filthy rich clubs who want him. This could be a long shot, but one player I would love to join us is A.Villa's C.Benteke. He is very sharp and if the team's tactics is played to suit his game, he can be as prolific as Torres. The other one is W.Ham midfielder Diame. I remember when we played against him away, he was a constant threat from midfield but when he was carried off, W.Ham lost the balance and we scored 2 goals to win the game. At Anfield, I remember he was so good in holding the ball and ghosting past challengers, at one time, when he had the ball,a few of our players didn't bother to challenge him because they knew Diame would easily get past them with ease as he was so outstanding with his ball control throughout the game. If we can get one of them or both, I would be most excited about next season. Guys like Aspas, L.Alberto are still relatively unknown players.

If suarez don't come out and say he's staying by tomorrow. F.uck him and sell him ASAP am fed up with these mercenary b.astards joining our club making a name for themselves Owen, Torres as a couple of examples then stuffing us. No if,s or but,s if he won,t commit sell the p.rick. He won't be the first and the way this so called sports going he won't be the last. What does my head in is when they come out with LFC and the city are the best in the world. The fans are the best in the world BLAH BLAH. And anfield is the best ground on earth with the unique atmosphere B.ullshit. If its so good why would anyone on earth want to leave?? I hope one day Carra comes back as manager and kick,,s the S.hit out of all those so called world class athletes. F.ucking fuming. Rant over better take my tablets

There is no denying his talent but if he goes I not going to feel same despair as when Torres or Owen left.
We  get a good price for him and continue to build a cohesive team unit rather rely on mercurial star player we probably will better off in long run
I just want it sorted one way or other

Why did you feel despair when we sold Torres? £50m for a player that had become a disruptive influence, as recently confirmed by Jamie Carragher, was excellent business in my opinion. Nando had thrown his dummy out for reasons best known to himself and was never the same player after he returned from injury. His record at Chelsea has been poor to say the least. Chelseaa would be very lucky if they could sell him for between £15m and £20m. Chelsea have also paid him over £25m in wages since he joined. What Chelsea have lost on Torres makes Carroll look like a good deal by comparison.

Michael Owen is a mercenary but so are the majority of top class footballers. Can you actually blame them? Would you behave differently if you were in their position? I very much doubt it. Easy to say that we would behave impeccably but I'm afraid money normally has the loudest voice.Liverpool fkd up financially with Owen and McManamon and it is unrealistic to blame the players.Suarez has signed a contract and if he is sold we will reap the rewards. In his first full season Suarez struggled to hit the proverbial horses ar.se with a banjo. If we keep him will he go back to that or have another brilliant season. It's all a bit of a gamble with no guarantees. The only thing for certain is that Luis will do something fkg stupid again before he hangs up his boots!

Sorry Dev but that's fine to made comments like that well after fact , your entitled to opinion but hindsight a wonderful thing.

At the time with arrival of new coach Rafa it was for me as a fan  a real blow to guts when Owen went to Madrid (whose ever fault it was and what would I do is irrelevant )
Same thing with Torres with return of Kenny, new owners and Suarez signing for him to be transferred to our premiership rivals was another blow for me as a fan

Now Suarez goes I can only real silver lining rather the any dark cloud of losing a talented player

Yep agree - at the time I was gutted when both Torres and Owen left. Will be disappointed when Suarez leaves but glad

Aspas given number 9, so it seems we won't be trying to buy any top striker unless well sell Suarez.

I know numbers don't always stop people from coming, but 9 tends to go to your "marquee-type signings"

Bad memories, with hindsight the easier to deal with was Torres, but at the time Owen's desertion hurt more.

Edit: meant hurt me more.
