If he does want to come it would be because he is of the opinion that the future is bright for Liverpool and he believes in BR.

Because we will pay more money than dortmund

He reminds me of Bellamy because he's a bit short tempered. In his game as I told Nanny red in facebook, he's more a little Luis without the trickster and ball waster part, and the perfect companion, not the replacement of Suarez.

Prospective new Liverpool front man Iago Aspas will have to pay £4 million out of his own pocket in order to seal his dream move to Anfield this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The young Celta de Vigo attacker had been expected to complete his protracted £7.7m transfer to the Reds this week after the player had flown to England to both undergo his medical and discuss personal terms with the Merseyside giants.

However, doubts then began to emerge about the deal taking place after Aspas flew back home to Spain on Tuesday with no official announcement having been made with regard his move to Liverpool.

It was then that it emerged that the 25-year-old, who scored 12 goals in his 36 appearances for the struggling Liga outfit last season, was involved in a financial dispute with his former agent, who has since requested the Spanish Football Federation withhold international clearance for the move to take place because of a dispute over his representation.

And, by all accounts the forward will now need to pay up to £4m in order to settle his wrangle with his one-time representative before he can seal his transfer to Anfield.

cant say i`d be too heartbroken if this transfer fell through, we should take the money from this proposed deal and add it to the £10m already on the table for papadopolous. we should stop f##king schalke around by threatening to pull out of the deal every five minutes and just give them the £17m they are asking, that isnt an extortionate fee for one of the most highly rated young CB`s in europe.
if we do have some spare cash lying around later on in the summer for a winger (after we`ve sorted our priority positions out) then buy someone like luis muriel, if a signing of that calibre is pie in the sky then go for someone like brian ruiz, at least he is skillful, this aspas is just a hard runner in the borini mould (as is atsu).

There is absolutely nothing about this latest story concerning Aspas ,either on the official web site, or tonight's Echo .

Liverpool football club came out and spoke publicly the other day about how they were mystified by all these media reports saying the deal for Aspas
has stalled and as far as they were aware the player will be a reds player next season. I expect these latest exposes by what can only be described as
concocted tales by reporters that like to embellish the truth are indeed "Bollocks" .

If Aspas is expected to pay 4 million then I'm he'll want us to pay that money for him. If that happens, he'll cost us 12 million just to bring him here. No way we're paying 12 million for this guy man.

I'm totally with you on this one.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why we have brought in so many attacking players.

At the moment we have Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge, Borini, Aspas and Alberto.

The dreaded fear is that we have resigned ourselves to letting Suarez go regardless if Madrid come in or not for him. If Aspas and Alberto are the signings to replace him we might as well call it a day and pack up the club right now.

Really hope this Aspas business falls through completely, what a fkn schmozzle! No way we should pay 12m for him, if Brendan is even contemplating this for one minute he should be given his marching orders now.

And why the fk are we not going DEFCON 1 on getting this Papadopolous fella? 17m for one of the best young defenders in Europe while we are "pi.ss.ing' our money away on rugrats  :no

We should all be very worried right now lads.

We also go Assaidi, Yessil, Suso and Sterling... That's 10 players for 4 positions...

I guess that shows BR's fetish for flexible attacking players...

We should be buying a CB and a better DM than Lucas...

bringing a dominant CB in should have been our number 1 priority this window, look at the chaos caused (and the goals conceded) by basic, bog standard percentage balls lobbed into our box. ordinary footballers like carlton cole, shane long, ricky lambert and jon walters had us reaching for the panic button at the back just because we couldnt deal with their physical presence.
as others have said an athletic, powerful DM who can cover the ground quickly wouldnt go amiss either, when games lost their structure last season and turned into end to end type basketball games lucas and gerrard really struggled to cope, the only reason we generally held our own in midfield during the second half of the season was that hendo was running a half marathon every game.
i dont think we will bring in a DM though, we all know how highly rodgers rates allen and lucas has just signed a new long term contract so i cant see him spending any significant sums of money in that area.

I've felt, and stated so at some point in the past year or so, That Flanno would make a good defensive mid.  The lad obviously is behind a few in the RB role.  Something about him reminds me of Mascher.  I think he'd do a pretty damn good job there.

BTW, what this has to do with Aspas, I have no idea.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Flanagan as DM?

He isn't good enough for LFC in my opinion and doesn't matter what position you stick him.  Too lightweight and no situational awareness. Decent on the ball and reasonably quick tho.

McLaughlin is a much better prospect for right back too than Flanagan.

For all of Flanno's deficiencies I'd hardly think being lightweight would be one of them.

But emm, yeah, this Aspas guy LOL

now the signing is offical

iverpool Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo, subject to international clearance:

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest- ... ool-switch

The deal with Celta Vigo is now complete and the 25-year-old has penned a long-term contract after passing a medical at Melwood.

Aspas scored 12 goals and claimed seven assists during 34 appearances for relegation-threatened Celta last term.

The Spanish star can play through the middle or out wide and represents the club's third piece of business this summer following the deal in principle for Man City defender Kolo Toure and the signing this weekend of Luis Alberto from Sevilla.
