By all accounts Aspas is a bit of a headbanger.

We have had the alleged fake email, the deletion of a fake twitter account, and now perhaps the fake transfer to
top the week off.

Its pre season but Liverpool continues to entertain, and at this point I doubt a professionally run outfit would be amusement enough
for a fan base high on off field drama.

If Aspas is another basket case with dodgy representation then he has landed at the right club, welcome aboard son

All getting a bit silly this Aspas transfer.

I don't think LFC would announce that the deal is agreed in principle on the official site if they weren't 100% sure it would go through.

I don't think anyone knows nearly enough about Ayre or the ins and outs of our transfer dealings to be able to badmouth him.

Parry, Purslow, Ayre... its always their fault when we make a bad buy or the club gets embarrassed, not always the footballing people who identify transfer targets or the footballing people who cause the embarrassment.

agreed john its getting pure silly at this stage.
the mirror is the ones running with this and they claim to have evidence in the form of emails that ayre sent to the sports management company negotiating the transfer.
apparently aspas is under contract with 2 other agents until 2014 and that is the problem. he needs to get an ITC cert to play here and they are refusing to give it because of the transfer being dealt with by a 3rd party.
if these stories are true then it will either result in us having to walk away from it or pay some compo somewhere but its far from an ideal situation.
since ayre has been appointed md we have gone nowhere, he made a balls of the transfer dealings last summer and looks to be at it again.
the club announced last summer that they had signed dempsey and infuriated fulham, all under ayres watch so he has to be held accountable and imo he's not up for the job.
as someone else posted earlier do a search for ayre and his time at huddersfield and how well that ended up for them.

I'm signing for Liverpool to play with Suarez, not replace him, insists Aspas

Liverpool's new signing Iago Aspas has denied he has been bought as a replacement for wantaway striker Luis Suarez.
The Spaniard’s £7.7million move to Anfield is set to be completed next week despite claims it has been blocked by the Spanish Football Federation because of a paperwork wrangle.
And the controversial 25-year-old, who has been compared to Suarez due to his fiery temper.

'Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am going there to take an important step in my career, not to be a replacement for anyone,' Aspas told the Daily Mirror.
'I think it is time for me to take the next step in my career and Liverpool can help me do that. I have confidence in my ability to move forward and to grow as a player.
'I described the move as emotional for me because it is such a big club and it means I’ve reached another level. But I am calm because I feel I am ready.
'I want to show that I am capable of playing at the level of this huge club.'

Aspas also revealed he expects to link up with Suarez next season despite the Uruguayan being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
'I am excited to be going to England – I want to play in the Premier League,' he added.
'And I hope I will be helped to settle there by all the Spanish speakers at the club... including Luis Suarez.'

good words from aspas there.
lets hope this gets sorted asap and he signs.
it would be great for us to have all our deals complete by the end of july so we can bed them in during preseason and are ready to go when the league starts.

Aspas reminds me a lot of C.Bellamy ie fast, hard working and scores goals. I am sure he won't be a flop. If we can get H.Mkhitaryan that would be fantastic, but why would someone of his quality want to come to a mid table side like Liverpool when B.Dortmund are also interested? If he does want to come it would be because he is of the opinion that the future is bright for Liverpool and he believes in BR.

Lifted from tonight's Echo

Liverpool are bemused, meanwhile, by reports suggesting their £7.7m deal to sign striker Aspas from Celta Vigo could be delayed, or even blocked, by a dispute with the Spanish Football Federation over the player’s paperwork. The Reds announced a deal had been agreed in principle for Aspas last week, and are adamant the move will be finalised once both the English and Spanish transfer windows open at the end of the month.
