Yeah, bit I wouldn't want him to lose his appetite for the game.

Liverpool's Luis Suárez blames British media for his problems

• 'I'm South American, that's the root' of his 10-match FA ban

• Real Madrid interest is 'just rumours, nothing concrete'

Liverpool's Luis Suárez, who is with Uruguay for a World Cup qualifier in Venezuela, said the media's attitude towards him means he will never win an important award in England

Luis Suárez said he is being driven out of Britain by the media but has not received a concrete offer from Real Madrid.

The Liverpool striker, who is with Uruguay for a World Cup qualifier in Venezuela on Tuesday, told the television show RR Gol: "Ever since I arrived I have felt bad, they [the media] have never judged me for my play but with the attitude that he dives, protests, makes gestures, racism … everything."

"They have never spoken well of me. For that reason, when I was told I could win the Player of the Year award, I said: 'I will not get excited as I know that I will never win an important award in England.'"

Suárez is serving a 10-match ban for biting the Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. He compared his ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra with that of John Terry, who was suspended for four games after a similar incident involving Anton Ferdinand.

"Without any proof they gave me an eight-match ban but with Terry, where they had proof, lip-readers, they gave him four. I'm South American and I think that's the root of all of this," he said.

"Liverpool is a club that I dreamt about playing for as a boy. I have been with great players there, they know me and I would love to continue for many more years at Liverpool. The stadium is spectacular, the fans are phenomenal: people with tattoos of me, things that I could never have imagined.

"After the [Evra] suspension people would come up to me, this is something that really touched me and they would say: 'Luis, forget everything and stay.'

"But I can't forget as it was something that I had to suffer, that my family had to suffer, and away from football I have a family to support and who are hurt by these things."

Suárez has suggested he would be interested in playing for Real Madrid and said: "My agent said to remain calm rather than quiet – remain calm and when there is concrete interest you'll be the first to know.

"I'm not sure if I see myself in the white [Real kit], the only thing I know is that I have a contract.

"Any player would like to play for a great team and Real Madrid certainly are that. Every player wants to reach the very top and Real Madrid are at the very top, but everything that has been said is just rumours, I have had nothing concrete."

How much of this is being manufactured? If we lose him we look ok because of what the press have printed. If we keep him it is almost like signing a new player similar to when Gerrard nearly went to Chelsea.

Manufactured by who ? Suarez is the one doing all the talking - he appears ( along with his agent ) to be the one trying to manufacture a move

well thats the question Devaney, I mean there's no getting away from the facts that Suarez sat and gave a interview and said all that stuff about playing for Madrid but was he just stating the obvious? I mean, playing for real madrid is a dream most footballers have as they follow their career through. He was only stating the obvious. As for the press/media hounding him, he's brought some of it on himself but they have played their part if he leaves and I hope he doesn't.

2 fingers up to the media. thats his next t-shirt under his kit for when he scores his first goal of the new season

Suarez wont be at Liverpool next season. He has 6 games left of his ban and will play his football probably at Madrid.

He has said he wants to leave. Said it is because of the media (thats Bollock s)

I honestly thought he would stay before his comments he made. Now I'm sure he will go. All we can do is hope to get as much money as we can and make sure the money goes towards a cracking player.

A statement of intent will need to be made. If Suarez goes and we replace him with someone like Alexis Sanchez well then ill be happy with that

ffs, it seems like anytime he`s within 10 feet of a microphone he starts basically begging madrid to come and sign him.
by the sounds of it even his agent is telling him to chill the f##k out and shut the f##k up.
i cant see him playing for us again, this isnt a case of a one off interview lost in translation, this fella seriously wants out.
what will p1ss me off more than suarez going is if the club let this rumble on all summer and then sell him at the last minute when we dont have any time to bring in a suitable replacement. i dont want to see 2 seasons on the bounce f##ked up before a ball is kicked.
and if we do lose suarez, carroll, reina and skrtel this summer (which is looking ever more likely) i want to see some quality replacements arriving at the club, i dont want to be another arsenal who sell all their high profile players and make a profit in the transfer market.

The summer is becoming more and more crucial - it will certainly be a massive turning point - which way we turn will be determined by the players arriving and how we start the season

Arsenal are certainly talking about spending big. They need too and if they do it could close off the final CL spot - currently to spend big though they are certainly asking their fans to cough up a lot of money. Arsenal are becoming the first club to price out their regular fans - and concentrate on corporate packages - but they need to do it to keep up with the big spenders. Money in the prem is just getting more and more influential

true, but they havent brought in any big names yet, and they wouldnt be the first club to talk big when season ticket renewal forms were in the post.
i do sense this year is different though, mainly because the arsenal fans are in uproar and they`ve had enough.

the club need to sort this out and quickly.
has the club or rodgers even been in contact with him to resolve this ? or is the official line still "neither the player or his agent has made us aware of these feelings" bullsh!te.
give him a deadline and a price tag and be done with it or else we will get shafted by him and madrid at the death of the window with no time to do anything else other than panic buy.

He has to go, and he has to leave the prem. Madrid is a red herring and its his treatment since he has been here which is causing him distress (as I said)
His honesty about the media, the fa and the country as a whole has made it worse for him

I expect most realise that the red herring is the treatment of the media - this is a person who was adamant that the media didnt effect him and he ignored them.

I think it's simple he just wants to go to a club that will compete at the highest level and that have a chance of challenging for trophies and success.
