Not where you're concerned though - I've already proven that when I stumbled across your pearler.

All you have proved is that I wasn't unhappy with the signings of Adam, Henderson and Downing when they happened.

That doesn't really prove anything ( but remember you aren't trying to score a point ) .

Again only one of them you could really compare with Aspas - Adam.

Bit of experience and bite back in the side ?

How good would that be!

I didn't realise he was surplus to requirements at barca.  ???

Quite heavily linked with Napoli mate.
They are in the champions league though and he might fancy working with Rafa again as he played arguably his best football under him.
Agree with Benny that we could do with a physical prescence, however have hardly seen anything of Wanyama to comment on him.

I don't think we have a prayer at getting Masher back unfortunately but he is certainly the type we need - maybe even someone more physical dominating than him.

maybe Rodgers truly believes that bite and physical presence is in the form of Gerrard and Lucas.

Mascha would be an excellent engine in that department for us but Napoli may appear the better option.

From Rodgers' quote, I don't think he's in the market for a DM.  :(

I would say your somewhat contradictory Navas' posts made my point.

Because i said there is no guarentee they would work in the prem ?

Im pretty sure thats valid for any signing - there are no guarentee

So again not sure what point you think you have proven.

But if i had to pick which player i would take the risk on from Navas and Aspas - it would be Navas every single day of the week.

my favorite quote has to be
Downing , Adam and Henderson are signings which improve our team and squad and will help us get back into the top 4

And its something that didnt work out -

Im not the only person to be happy with something only for it not to work out am i Kewell - Im pretty sure you yourself have come up with some statements that have turned out to not work out - Take your pick from any statement you made slating Rafa and demanding he was sacked - that worked out well didnt it.

People in glasshouses Kewell - very relevant for you.

But its good that you arrive into the thread and add so much too it ( as per usual )

I was that devastated when Rafa was sacked because im a manc windup ( i should have been delighted like the true Liverpool fans like you eh ? ) , i was even more devastated that they sacked Kenny because im a manc windup ( again i should have shown more glee like the true Liverpool fans like you ).

Yes you have got me Kewell - i have supported Liverpool for over 30 years because im a manc windup.

You made out it was much riskier for Dalglish to do this- buy Navas as it was a risk and that he was hyped up by many people; and stated that we didn't need a team full of superstars but rather buy players to make a cohesive team, now Rodgers is doing this your not okay with it. That was my point.

Benny at risk of spamming this forum with the same post in multiple threads, you did not address the first statement, which I think is more important.

you add nothing but tedium.

Again, like I said before Benny, with you it's not necessarily the players you rate that blurs your reasoning, it's the manager. You like Dalglish (we all do) so you like his average expensive flops. You find it hard to be objective because these players haven't got us anywhere near top 4 but you rate them more because they were Dalglish buys - as though it's some kind of loyal act towards the man.

I'd bet my mortgage on it had Rodgers spent that kind of money on them you'd be trolling this board 10 fold with negative posts about his poor signings. Your doing it now with a bloke who isn't even half the price of Downing and moaning about this. Had Dalglish signed Aspas you'd be happy with it.  :nod

Your love or loathe of a manager determines how you view the individual players they buy.

End of.

for now, no doubt

Because Downing was a proven performer in the Prem over a consistent period of years.

We need quality in the team 2 years ago I thought that Downing etc would provide the quality to get Carroll thriving in the prem - it didnt work out that way.

It's got nothing to do with who is signing the player - it's the type of player we are looking at - I don't think Aspas is the type we need - it's that simple.

I don't think Aspas will amount to anything with us - simple as that and I hope our future signings this summer are of better proven standard.

based on what? he could amount to nothing, he could have an average season, he could turn out to be the bargain of the year! He could light the world up for all we know and for all you know. so what your saying is neither right or wrong.
