Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

I have read it - won't change how players see the club and why they want to go there - Fake Ronaldo left the scum who were winning everything to go there - why ? Because its seen by many as the pinnacle club.

If its a reality of their club in the last ten years  - 4 titles since 02/03 season ( Barce have 6 ) - then what does the last ten years say about us ?

Yes I forgot. You only reserve negativism for the team you support. How odd.

I reserve realism for the club i support

How can we criticise Real Madrid !

They win things - they may not have won the CL in 10 years but they still have won their respective league a number of times in the same period.

When we are back winning titles and competing alongside them in the CL then maybe we can cast dispersions at them.

But I did like the claim of all those sides that will be ahead of Madrid next season ! Is that based on this season when they reached the semis and no English or Italian team did. They are about to get Ancelotti as manager who will repair the damage from Maureen and when they add in Bale and prob Suarez they will be up there challenging once again.

And where will we be ? Battling with the BS for 6th.

Yes I can see exactly why Suarez would want stay !

Reg » Tue Jun 04, 2013 4:13 am wrote:To present the other side of the coin, ask yourselves whether Suarez's behaviour has been befitting of a Liverpool player bearing in mind the massive global publicity received on all 3 occasions? It's one thing to support a player when things go wrong on the field however the club and the fans have expectations that he doesn't bring the club into disrepute. No other player has caused so much off the field controversy nor damaging publicity for a global 'brand'.

I have already commented on the 3 main incidents he has been involved in:

The first "racist" incident is a pure fabrication of the Manure scum and Whiskey nose. It was never proven and giving someone an 8 game ban for using their native tongue is in my opinion borderline facism. As has been pointed out time and time again John "The Lion Heart" Terry got a slap on wrist with calling someone something far worse, which is indeed racist. So little Luis has every right to be outraged at the way this was handled by the authorities, media and lemming fanbase calling for this head. Never in a hundred years would you have seen the same suspension handed to a Manure player if the exact same circumstances were reversed. To add insult to injury that smart-a**e french frog cleverly made the situation worse by pulling his hand away from Luis and another major "LUIS SUAREZ" issue arose. This is probably the biggest con the game has ever seen, I truly f**King despise the scum bags for having pulled it off and in the long term convinced the general public and once again our more 'simple' fans that it was ALL Luis Suarez's fault.

The second so called "diving" incident(s) is another prime example of how he has been targeted incessantly by the media. Yes he has dived in the past, but diving is a football issue, somehow the media harpies have turned it into a foreigner issue or more pointedly a Luis Suarez issue. Once again I don't condone diving and if Luis Suarez is going to be hung out to dry, then name and shame everyone that does this, including your local heroes *cough* *cough* Bale. Another reason the truth won't be reported is because everyone knows those Merchandise United scum-bags will rack up the most free-kicks and penalites for diving and the least amount of genuine penalties against them. You only need to look at our home game against them this season and the outrageous decisions made, particularly Valencia milking a penalty to win the game for them.

The third "biting" incident is something that can't be defended and this is geniunely the only time we can clearly say he has brought the club into disrepute. But in all this time has gone and killed someone? Has he gone and assaulted or maimed someone off the field (plenty of players do this)? Has he raped or sexually assualted anyone? No, his only crime is a love bite on another player yet he is going to miss almost the 3rd of the season for doing this.

If anything this highlights that indirect racism is rife in English football and the ridiculous set of standards applied to one player but not the rest of the league's players especially local ones. How else would you explain the discrepancy that lies in the total bans he has received as compared to other players doing the same thing?

Put this into context and this becomes more of an exercise in the Engligh media and football authorities being under the microscope, then Luis Suarez.

does it say we've won the Champions league more times than them in the last 10 years? remember, the Champions League is the holy grail for players, the single reason they all flock to Madrid...  only we won it more than them in the last 10 years.

Yep we have won it once in the last ten years - and failed to qualify for the last 4 years. Where as they reached the semi final this year. Certainly a step up from us currently don't you think ?

It's not me that likes their glory etc - it's the players( I want our team to have that glory )  , and that's why the best in the world go there. And that's why Suarez has said "it will be hard to turn them down "

Which is the whole point.

The whole point is, you have nothing positive to say about LFC but you do R.Madrid. Again as a supposed LFC supporter I find that quite odd.

nope I don't. End of the day there's 1 winner and it hasn't been real madrid in the last 11 years. So Suarez and all other world class players just long for the chance to play in the semis do they?

They go for the chance to play in the CL and get the chance to win it as opposed to us who aren't even in the CL.

The step up to Madrid from us is quite clear.

Madrid are in the top level of clubs alongside Barce , Bayern and prob the Mancs. Those clubs will attract the very best because they will guarentee players the chance to compete each year for trophies

The fact you have NOTHING positive to say about the team you support is quite odd IMO. The the fact you seem to revel in point scoring about how great RM are on a Liverpool forum is odd too, you're arguing with Liverpool fans about how great you think Madrid are, of course they're going to stick up for their club.

Lets be honest, Madrid will most likely be competing for the Spanish league, Cup and Champions league next season.  There is a very good chance they will win at least one and at least get to the later stages of each competition.

With us, we have no European football at all and we won't be challenging for the title.
Suarez deserves to be in a team competing for trophies, even Gerrard said as much.  And thats much more likely to happen for him at Madrid than it is here.
