I agree that the 8 game for Thatcher wasnt enough and it was wrong for Defoe to get away with it.
The FA have set the line now.
Like the line they set when the banned Luis for 8 matches for racism ?
Then Terry was banned for 4 ?
That line ?
They make it up as they go along to suit personal agendas, the punishments given to Suarez show that to be clear.
I've been reading your argument for 2 days Benny and they dont stack up.
Initially regarding Defoe you have stated that if it's been seen on the pitch by the ref nothing can be done.
You were then informed that wasnt the case with Thatcher - so they can take retrospective action.
The fact that they didnt against Defoe questions how severe they believe the offence to actually be.
Nobody is condoning it, everyone agrees he deserves punsihment. I honestly feel 3 matches should have been enough.
It was a crazy shocking thing to do but he hasnt injured the player, while we dont see things like that on the pitch usually you still have to question the severity of what his actions where.
Also bear in mind the lad has never been sent off in England previously.
He has faced 2 serious charges since being here and been punished in comparison with similar offences heavily.
I dont think that can be disputed do you ?
