Barcelona to rival Arsenal in race for Liverpool star!
He is considered to be one of the best stoppers in the Premier League and is vital to Liverpool’s success, but it seems that a battle could be on between Arsenal and Barcelona to sign Pepe Reina in the summer, as the Spanish giants are looking to replace Victor Valdes.
Valdes stunned Barca by refusing to discuss an extension to his contract, which runs out in 2014, and though he will play until the end of the season, Barca want to recruit a new goalkeeper in June.
Barca believe Liverpool would consider a bid for Spain international Reina, with manager Brendan Rodgers aware that he will have to sell key players to raise money to rebuild the current side. (Daily Mail)
Bayern Munich plan sensational Liverpool raid!
He will not take over until the summer but has already reportedly starting to line-up some moves. And the latest to emerge is one which would see Bayern Munich’s coach to be Pep Guardiola make a £40 million offer for Liverpool Luis Suarez.
Former Barca boss Guardiola also has a straight line into Suarez because his brother is the player’s agent – and a price clause is known to him.
Guardiola wants to make a couple of landmark signings when he moves to the German giants in the summer and Suarez is on his short list.
Liverpool boss Rodgers hopes to keep Suarez happy after fending off Juventus in the last window and giving their star South American a new deal. (Sunday People)
