imo the best way to eradicate diving is to return football back to the contact sport it once was.
if refs stopped giving fouls for the most innoculous challenges then players would soon get the message and stay on their feet, they are not going to tumble to the ground theatrically and go through the whole king lear act II routine for nothing.
as the art of tackling has left the game the art of buying free kicks has entered it, and not just free kicks but pen`s and yellow cards too, players know these days that 2 decent dives can reduce the opposition to 10 men.
half the fouls you see in a game these days the players could have stayed on their feet if they really wanted to, you see big center halves/forwards built like light heavyweight boxers flopping to the floor, arms flailing, just because someone places a hand on their back or shoulder.
it`s embaressing really.

What is happening to Luis is nothing new at all. Look what they did the Beckham after his sending off in the world cup! The only way to stop this ***** is to stop giving them reasons.

You have my permission to think that its all down to Suarez and that purple nose has no influence on english football whatsoever, and the refs arent cheating by refusing blatant penalties

I think his grip and United's dominance is coming to an end in England. All his actions over the last two years points to a man who knows his empire is crumbling away. You, if you claim the refs are cheats. You are saying that they are throwing games by not giving us pens simple. Also you claim that the FA are in on it? That fergie runs the media, FA and maybe the world?

Let me run through it slowly so you can grasp the concept. If the referees are not giving penalties to a player who has been blatantly fouled in the box because of his previous actions then they are being unfair and biased. This gives the opposition the advantage, which is against the rules: i.e cheating. I am not saying they are doing it deliberately to give teams a better chance of winning the game. I am also not saying they are gaining financially from the result of the match. I am saying that they should be impartial and judge each incident on its own merit, and because of their decisions we are suffering. OK?
Th FA are in on it by not stopping it. They have the power to tell the referees to do their job properly and stop singling Suarez out, but are chosing not to which is bad news for us. Whether its because its LFC I cant say, but it is a hell of a coincidence that it is our player who is the target of the witch hunt, who just so happens to be the one who got vilified for an 8 match ban from the FA. OK?
Fergie has form as long as your arm where he has used the dark arts to further his cause. He can intimidate and manipulate refereess and the media, banning journalists even though he has been told not to. He didnt speak to the BBC for years even though he was ordered to and no-one has had the FA in a flurry over the years than old sir purple nose. Do a bit of research into the controversies united have been involved with over the years. Thats EVERY SEASON by the way. If you arent aware of this then welcome to our game. OK?
The media are gormless, ignorant, sensationalist, stupid, hypocritical cu'nts by and large with a couple of exceptions. Watch sunday supplement on sky if you dont believe me. OK?
I am not saying that all the people I mentioned had got together and formed a plan to exterminate LFC. That would be silly. What I do say is that when all these things come together to sway public opinion and create a mob mentality then it is easy to see why some intelligent Liverpool supporters would be aggrieved at those who have influence in football. I am also not saying Suarez is blameless but the reaction to him for something that every striker does is shocking to say the least.
I hope I have explained this clearly and at a level you can understand because I wouldnt want you to waste your time and money buying tin foil in these times of austerity, especially when halloween and bonfire night are just around the corner.

So we are relying on Saurez for goals this weekend, who has apparently travelled 14,420 miles this week on international duty? Can't say I'm too optimistic for goals to be scored. The lack of strikers is becoming more ridiculous as time passes by. Laughable, though not in a funny way.

As bad as the bias against him has been it is only a matter of time until a referee hears enough about this to almost go the other way, and fear being seen as another ref being unfair to him (if that makes sense).

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him get a pen vs Reading.  Knowing our luck we'll miss it and register another bore draw at home and we'll all be back here blaming the ball or something.

i wonder how long it'll take the commentators on MOTD for our game tomorrow to bring up the diving issue as soon as suarez gets legitimately fouled?

the commentator in the argentina-uruguay game was even banging on about it the other day. absolutely tiresome. especially with the likes of di maria on the pitch who are as bad if not worse.
